About the author

Escape into addictive, sexy, emotional M/M romance.
A.D. Ellis is an Indiana girl, born and raised. She spends much of her time in central Indiana as an instructional coach/teacher in the inner city of Indianapolis, being a mom to two amazing teens, and wondering how she and her husband of over two decades haven't driven each other insane yet. A lot of her time is also devoted to phone call avoidance and her hatred of cooking.
She loves chocolate, hot tea, sweet wine with friends, pizza, and naps along with reading and writing romance. These loves don’t leave much time for housework, much to the chagrin of her husband. Who would pick cleaning the house over a nap or a good book? She uses any extra time to increase her fluency in sarcasm.
A.D. uses she/they pronouns.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2020I have read several stories by this author, and I have never been disappointed. This one is a moving story about love, real love, brotherly love and adversity, and promotes the lesson that when life kicks you down you must get yourself up again and don't allow yourself to be defeated. Sky had lived a very rough and abusive life until he finally got a break from his brother, and it was there that he met Van. Van and Sky are drawn together, but their path isn't easy, they have obstacles that they must overcome, and sometimes they feel their love as a heavy burden. Should they give up? Will they find that their love for each other is worth it in the end? This story had a good ending, and I would love to read about these characters again. I hope the author decides to bring them back in a future sequel. This book follows Let Love In, but both books are standalone, so you can read them in any order. I haven't read the first book yet, but that didn't keep me from enjoying this story.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2020I love this story. Sky is adorable. After what he went through, I just wanted to wrap him up in a giant hug. Luckily, Van was there to hold him. The attraction between the two of them was immediate, the chemistry was noticeable, but what I really liked is they didn't jump into anything. They took the time to get to re-learn things about each other. I definitely recommend this!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2020Skylar has just escaped an abusive relationship. The man he was with was so mentally abusive, Skylar believes he is damaged goods and definitely not good enough to be loved by another. He hasn't seen nor heard from his family in 3 years, but he needs someone, so he goes to his brother Charlie.
Van is Charlie's best friend. They all grew up together and now he lives in a house with Charlie and they both work together. When Skylar shows up on their doorstep, soaking wet from the rainstorm, Van's simple, single life, gets a little complicated. Van is definitely feeling something a bit more than one should feel about their best friends little brother.
Let Love Win was an oh-so-very-slow-burn. But when these 2 get past their obstacles, the smolder turns to F-I-R-E! Their biggest problem is, Charlie has warned them both to not get involved with each other. The question is- are they going to honor Charlies wishes and turn their backs on something that has the potential to be an extraordinary? Or follow their hearts and let love win?
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2021This was ok. The ages and time line seemed off to me for when the MCs went to college. Also, it got frustrating that there was so much lack of communication between all the characters. And the random third guy at the end was weird. But I liked the epilogue and I did like the relationship between the MCs although it did happen pretty fast.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2020Skyler is one of my favorite characters. He went from being in a horrible relationship to being able to stand on his two feet. It took so much courage to leave and turn to his family that he hadn't seen in three years. While this is going on throughout the story Skyler has so many different revelations about things that had happened in his life. It is amazing to see how something can be taken one way but mean something totally different. Donovan surprised me in so many ways. He did some many things to protect Skyler or to try and show him how much he cared even if it would cause him injury or illness. Charlie and his antics were just a added bonus.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 26, 2020This was an adorable friends-to-lovers m/m romance. When Sky comes out to his family in college, they take an immediate dislike to his new boyfriend. Sky takes this as them not accepting him and his sexuality, and cuts all ties. 3 years later, he shows up on his brother’s doorstep after finally ending the controlling relationship. Van, Sky’s brother’s best friend and the object of his childhood crush, opens the door. Sky’s brother quickly forbids the two from having a relationship, but Sky and Van can’t help but explore the chemistry between them.
I absolutely loved the MCs in this book. Sky is coming out of a traumatic past and has to work past several hang ups while starting to form a new relationship. I think it’s great that the author includes this and doesn't just gloss over difficult situations and responses like I’ve seen done in several books. This book is fairly low angst and medium-high heat. The chemistry between Sky and Van is great and very well written. I do agree with other reviews that the threesome fantasy seemed a bit out of place and not needed for the plot. It definitely added to the hot factor though.
Overall, this was a great, quick read. I finished it in just over a day. It had me laughing out loud several times with the witty banter between characters. This is the first book I’ve read by this author, but it will not be the last.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2020This talented author has taken the standard best friend's brother, and friends-to-lovers storylines and given them a fantastic, fresh, grab-you-by-the-feels, tug-at-your-heartstrings, poignant, slow burning, beautiful, hilarious, original, amazing, and totally awesome twist. It had me hooked from beginning to end, and I would recommend getting this marvelous gem for yourself.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2020I loved this book. It's very emotional and beautifully written. After Skyler escaped an abusive relationship he ends up at his brother's and his brother's best friend's house after three years. The way all of them handled Skyler's return was so sweet and loving you just couldn't help but want him and Donovan to be together. All the characters are likable and the book has a great flow to it and I enjoyed it.

5.0 out of 5 stars another awesome read.
Loved it. The dynamic between Van and Sky is beautiful then you add in Charlie and it was hilarious to see their dynamic. Watching the love bloom between Van and Sky was just beautiful. Seeing Sky grow and change coming from the relationship with Trent to being a man in a loving relationship with Van was a great read. Looking forward to reading more from A D Ellis.

5.0 out of 5 stars Got me out of my book slump
I love the brothers friends trope, and this book did it so well. I loved the chemistry and spice and the little bit of angst. I highly recommend!
