WHY C. G. COOPER MATTERS

Fiction has the power to change lives.

Pay a visit to Cooper Country and you’ll understand why. With his unique voice and flair for creating characters you’d love to hang out with, C. G. Cooper imparts every one of his novels with messages that perfectly illuminate what Faulkner called, “the human heart in conflict with itself.” In them, characters confront hard truths about life, the necessity of war, the military industrial complex, and why and how good men and women die.

But there are messages within the messages.

There is the power of the individual to triumph over evil against overwhelming odds; the struggle of good people against their inner demons; there is brotherhood, family, the discovery of allies in unexpected places, struggles with faith; there is community; there is authenticity; Cooper’s heart is on every page, beating hard and fast through action and moments of tenderness alike.

Expect high-octane action, slow-burn thrills, and gut-wrenching drama. Expect the ultimate conflict of the human heart.

This is Cooper Country. Lives will change.

THE LOWDOWN

Drawing on his days as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps—a stint that came on the heels of a degree in foreign affairs from UVA—Cooper sifted his experience through his vivid imagination and created Corps Justice, the first novel in the beloved Corps Justice series. Thus, a band of characters was born that would go on to enthrall readers throughout 17 novels and counting. With more than 2 million book downloads and multiple appearances in the Amazon Top 100, C. G. Cooper remains one of the most successful USA TODAY and Amazon best-selling authors.

In 2020, he won the prestigious James Webb Award presented by the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation for his novel Chain of Command.

In addition to bouncing around the country in search of the perfect vacation (turns out, it is anywhere with his family), Cooper has called Nashville home ever since his final Marine duty station. When not enjoying the laid-back lifestyle of Music City, he’s doing his best to add more novels to the growing list at cg-cooper.com.

This story ran more toward the fantastic than most of this series, but the characters added to the group brought some fun to the books!

In the U.S., the Republican Convention has ended and Congressman Antonio "Tony" McKnight is the presidential nominee! The very popular incumbent President Brandon Zimmer is running against him for his second term; he thinks Tony is his friend. He couldn't be more wrong or in more trouble. Tony knows about The Jefferson Group and with help is able to hire Ian Rourke to get some dirt on TJG. Will we see some dirty dealing? You betcha!

TJG won't be easy to find or hack. They are all over Europe on their first vacation in a long time. Cal and girlfriend, Diane, are in Paris with Daniel, who suddenly meets up with a gorgeous young woman, Anna! Top and Gaucho are in Amsterdam, where their hotel room is searched and they are chased into a canal! Top seems to have a close friend, Lydia, who he goes to for help. Neil, Jonas, and Dr. Higgins are arrested in Austria, and the word gets back to the President "Liberty Down". TJG is compromised! Twists and turns and surprises are the norm with author, C. G. Cooper.

There are syntax errors and typos which is unusual for this series, but this is still a quick, enjoyable read!

Still the dame characters as all of the previous stories, but a new darkness has entered the series. The very end of this book contains yet another possible thread. Only time and more story can tell.

I guess the lesson from this book is never go on vacation. At least that’s what it seemed like. I will admit that a couple of the guys found new girlfriends. So that was good.

I thoroughly enjoyed "Liberty Down", another great story from C.G.Cooper. This time, The Jefferson Group has split up to go on vacation in Europe and then find it cut short when they all discover they're being tracked and their top-secret network hacked and shut down. There is no communication and trying to coordinate the three groups is impossible. Why are they being followed and investigated by a source they can't identify?

The author shares legitimate details about Vienna, Paris and Amsterdam in the story which gives readers a little peek at those cities. It's the first time that the Jefferson Group is on the defensive side of the ball without available resources. The story is action packed and edge of your seat suspense. And, oh yeah, Daniel has a girlfriend - showing readers his gentile side.

While the teams scramble to solve their dilemma, readers learn that the reason for the teams' misfortune is politically motivated. It's the final week before the upcoming Presidential election...who is pulling the strings and why?

Great job Mr. Cooper! I look forward to your next story! Keep them coming!

The members of The Jefferson Group (TJG) and Diane are on vacation in Europe: Cal, Diane and Daniel are in Paris... MSgt Trent and Gaucho are visiting Amsterdam... Neil, Jonas and Dr. Higgins are on a working vacation in Vienna... Congressman Antonio McNight continues his plans to become the next president... Someone wants to take out TPG and ruin President Brandon Zimmer before the upcoming election...

The thirteenth book of the CORPS JUSTICE series starts out at an easy pace with everyone enjoying a well-earned break. Then the action picks up at breakneck speed and I was lost in the book. This was the most intense book (so far) in the series, but I think each book gets better. Mr. Cooper is a clever storyteller and knows how to keep the reader's attention — and there are always twists I did not see coming! Just when I think I have everything figured out, something unexpected happens... I love this series!

You will not want to miss this terrific novel. Liberty Down is one heck of a roller coaster read filled with intrigue, a bit of violence and a slight touch of romance? It all begins with The Jefferson Group on a European vacation. Dr. Higgins, Neil, and Jonas are in Austria. Top and Gaucho are in Amsterdam with Cal, Diane, Daniel and Cal’s puppy, Liberty, enjoying the sights of Paris. Suddenly, everything spins downward as an old secret enemy tries to take the Jefferson Group down and out. Throw in a U.S. Presidential race, a terror plot in Paris, a Lamborghini or two, a couple of new friends and for Daniel, a lady from his past, and you have a perfect recipe for excitement. If you are already familiar with Corps Justice, you know to expect the unexpected twists and turns as the story unfolds. If you haven’t read any of C.G. Cooper’s work, this novel is the perfect one to begin with because you will meet the main players. I found this book so entertaining that after reading it; I turned right around and read it again. Thank you Mr. Cooper for what very well may be your finest work!

Usually you’d never read a series without starting at the beginning. But, if you happened to pick up Liberty Down as your intro to Cal Stokes and his family of good friends, this is one of the few books that brings into focus each person’s role & relationship without starting at Book 1. I’m not suggesting that by any means, but I will say books 10-12 were very political and, to me, lost some of the story telling. Now, Liberty Down brings back the warmth and true spirit created by Cooper when he began this series. I think this is one of my favorite books since I started with the first. The team players are all on vacation. You know, it’s never a real vacation. While they’re out of the country during this election year, President Zimmer becomes the target. Someone wants him out of The White House. The ammunition? Stokes and company. A MUST read :)

I had given this series a break for a few weeks and continued reading a different series of books. But now I’m back, I realise just how much I enjoy them. The plot is always so real, you can imagine yourself alongside them. This book had a bit of a sad element but it did all work out in the end, thank goodness! It’s good to see the dam split up and have to find their own ways back to Cal, to reconvene and get out of trouble! A brilliant book again and I’m looking forward to reading the next one in the series. Very worthy of 5 Stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars A changing of the series?
Reviewed in Australia on August 6, 2020
This was a different type of book in the series. Our esteemed group decided on a European holiday but in groups. While there someone tries to take TJG down. What a better time with the group split up? Add to it some of the guys visit or run into old friends and before long you have a bigger group with the guys trying to protect the women. In my opinion I think it's time or past time for the guys to up skill these women more than what they have.

Anyhow, the presidential election is closing in and fast approaching.

Whilst they are away from bas their network in invaded by an operator of the Presidential candidate - releasing all their secret operations and identities and shutting down the network. Lots of new friends help them to get back to the USA, But will it be in time to avert a tragedy and will their identities be made public ? Great eead.
