Lost Vampire: Paranormal Vampire Shifter Romance (Bit-Lit Series Book 1) Kindle Edition
Lost Vampire
Book 1 of the Bit-Lit Series
The future is not a safe place.
When Tay Maslov was a girl, she lived in New York State, and her playground were the sun-drenched fields of her parent’s farm. But all that changed when one day the Servitors came, looking for new recruits for their master, the Archon Jeremiah of Brooklyn.
The vampires – or Elders – rule the cities now, and hardly any humans are left out in the wildernesses. All of that land is given over to the weird animal-like Shifters. The Elders run the Blood Banks, enforced Blood Donations, as well as the Blood Clubs, and the culls of insurgents.
When Tay Maslov, many years later and now a vampire herself, servant to her Archon Jeremiah, refuses to go on a cull of the poor humans she is cast down, becomes a Feral; hated by all. It is in this state that she meets Kaiden, himself a creature of the night – but far different from her. Which of them will survive what comes next?

W.J. May grew up in the fruit belt of Ontario. Crazy-happy childhood, she always has had a vivid imagination and loads of energy.
After her father passed away in 2008, from a six-year battle with cancer (which she still believes he won the fight against), she began to write again. A passion she'd loved for years, but realized life was too short to keep putting it off.
She is a writer of Young Adult, Fantasy Fiction and where ever else her little muses take her.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2015I am so happy I stumbled upon this amazing read by accident on Amazon because I loved it and read it all the same day. The world is full of humans, vampires and shifters and each have their own agenda. When Tay is named Feral and cast out from her brood and city she doesn't know what to do with herself. When she meets the stranger Kaiden she doesn't know what to make of him and from there the intrigue continues its fast growing crescendo that left me speechless as revelations floored me.
The world building is absolutely stupendous, the storyline is action packed and the characters are strong, fierce and even witty and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Two of my favorite quotes were:
"I thought that I would be helping the resistance. I didn't know that it would turn me into a monster."
"I'm a monster. An abomination. A liability to the cause."
This is a must read book.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2015I liked this take on vampires. It's not a perspective I'd seen before. I found the ending slightly anticlimactic, that may be my fault though. I was interested to see where Tays and Kaidens relationship was going to go but may be I'm not patient enough. I just wanted a little more interaction between them. However I am going to be reading the next book in the series because I've GOT to know if they meet up again!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2016Tay Maslov is an Elder but there are parts about her duties as an Elder she doesn't like. One thing is the Culling. So instead of participating in them she goes to the Blood Clubs and hangs out. As an Elder and a Vampire her Archon Jeremiah of Brooklyn requires this and when she disobeys him again, a price must be paid. Jeremiah punishes her in the worst way a vampire can be punished by being marked as a Feral and hated by Vampires, treated less than scum on their shoes. One wrong turn and Tay finds herself in trouble she never even imagined. Will she survive and how does the handsome Kaiden become part of her future or does he?
I love most paranormal books and I wanted to love this one too. I read Victoria by W.J. May and loved it. I have to say I was let down by this book. The story was too slow for me and it seemed just when the story actually got going the book ended on a huge cliffhanger, which I am not a big fan of. You are left with so many questions and with the way this book and story line went I am not sure I want to read the next one. So read this book and judge for yourself but for me this book missed the mark.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2016When you read as much as I do you need a good source of reading material at a great price. Whenever I come across a kindle book for under 2 bucks or better yet free I am always downloading it as long as it has a decent premise. I have never come across a fiction book yet that the synopsis was interesting to me that I haven't enjoyed. And this book did not let me down. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2017The story line was sort of interesting. Hard to tell because of the many times that the paragraphs and pages kept shifting. Made it very hard to follow. Frustrating.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2016Might be free, but still a let down. I read a lot of the books by this author but this one is really disappointing. Firstly, it is an episode not a book so don't expect it to go anywhere. It is not really a cliffhanger, but more like a "well that's enough words, I just stop here".
While it is a lot more edgy than a lot of her other books I have read, the characters are just unlikable. The world built for this book is pretty grungy and crawling around in the sewers of New York did nothing for me. Also don't judge the size of the book by it's file size as only about 80% is the actual book and the rest is promotion for her other books. Given that this book is free she can be allowed this level of advertising.
I can't find anything to recommend about this book. Uninteresting story line, hardly developed characters, lots of violence, and nothing like her other books.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2017Tay, a young vampire, under the thumb of a cruel and ruthless, Archon Jeremiah, was cast out as a feral. On the run, with no sanctuary, no one allowed to give her aid for fear of Jeremiah's wrath; she's near starving when Kaiden rescues her from the clutches of a trap set by shifters.
In what feels like a betrayal, they become separated and Tay goes on the run again, only to be betrayed again.
She no longer knows who she can trust; friend or foe? Will she be able to survive as a feral or will she succumb to the vampiric virus set to take over what's left of her humanity, ultimately turning her into an insane monster.
There are many dark forces working against the mortals and shifters in New York. Who will have the courage to fight back?
W. J. May has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I've read all of her Kerrigan books. When I happened upon this one, I had to read it and I wasn't disappointed! Her writing is impeccable as she completely consumes you with every word. I highly recommend this series, along with anything written by W. J. May. Everything she writes is truly exceptional! 5 stars!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2017A adult read for people who are in to the series recommend highly can't wait for the next one of the series a little slow to start but picks up towards the end shaping up to be a enjoyable series

5.0 out of 5 stars Lost vampire
An excellent book, it shows hierarchy of vampires and mortals who live with an uneasy alliance. Then there are the shifters and ferals (dispossessed by the higher vampire) all fighting for their lives and supremacy. Tay is the main character in the book and she has to learn new ways to survive after being thrown out by the leader.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lost vampire 1
Very different take on the vampire hierarchy and a bit confusing at the start but once you understand that, it makes sense, but the dreaming doesn't yet.
