- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2020I was in a really vulnerable place and looking for something that would pick me up a bit. This was recommended to me and I absolutely CONSUMED it. The stories are short and self contained, so it's quick to move through them, but they were exactly what I needed right now. So many of them are detailing something heart breaking, but every one of them is also infused with hope. It was what I absolutely needed right now. I definitely cried a bit for some of them. A lot of these stories were things that I myself had experience or that I had come close to, and it was healing to kind of find that "connection" to that experience and the uplift at the end, even if it was through the pages of a book. I really can't recommend this enough. If you're feeling down, if you're feeling vulnerable, if the world is getting to you - this is a book that is like a 'balm for the soul', so to speak.
Some of my favorites were:
Stepping into Love by Megan Sampson
Love is a Cliche by Cam Vuksinich
Fluid Love in the Sea of Sadness by Mairi Moibeal
Activisim is Love on steroids by K.C. Cooper
- Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2020This beautiful compilation is a reimagining of the meaning of love. Each chapter represents the author’s interpretation, and the work as a whole is a stunning journey. Some stories are spiritual, others romantic, lyrical, surprising, and above all, moving.
In “Love is a Cliché (Cam Vuksinich), we learn to stir the pot and empower LOVE. We are shown the value of loving kindness in “Where’s My Milkshake” (Randy Walters). Demetra Presly gives us glimpse of the precious gift that she says can only be demonstrated by example – unconditional, powerful, generous, unfaltering love (“Things My Mother Taught Me)”. While there are several chapters devoted to self-love, I found “Unchained by Shame” to be the most impactful. Through a self-described arduous journey, the author (Toni Lynn Pakus) unfettered herself from shame and realized she was free to love herself and others unconditionally, and her life was open to limitless possibilities.
I wanted to read a chapter every day over 53 days to savor the experience, but I simply could not put this down. I thought about this in the shower, in my car and at breakfast with coffee. This is a book for lovers, love warriors and love rebels.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2020This book feels like a best friend; it is to be savored, held, and gifted. Love Meets Life is a charming compilation of vignettes featuring authentic, heart-centered, deeply personal accounts from people who elegantly reveal their experiences of coming to self-love, choose to be love, and how they radiate love in our world. This compilation is a real, gracious and inspiring reminder that brings us home to ourselves. Reading these candid journeys from the heart empowers us to exhale, feel safe, breathe-easy, and is genuinely inspirational in ways we, too, can love ourselves and be love in our world. I highly recommend Love Meets Life; it is like taking a walk with your best friend; real, heart-warming, healing.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2020Love can be found anywhere at any time because love lives inside of each and every one of us. What a great group of talented authors! I was thrilled to see that Jen Buck was chosen to be contributor to this publication because I have never known a situation where one or more of the eight types of loves according to the ancient Greeks have not been a part of whatever Jen is involved in. This book is love, Jen is love, and Life is love and the greatest when it is unexpected!

- Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2020Love is defined and demonstrated in ways as unique as those who experience it. Love stands tall in the face of hate and discrimination. It lifts us up in times of grief or sacrifice. “Love Meets Life” shares the stories of 53 people of varying ages, backgrounds and circumstances…all with the common thread of love made manifest. These are stories not unlike our own in which love is translated into advocacy, compassion and action towards a better world. This is an inspiring read that came straight from the heart.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2020So many things to love about this book! I purchased this at a time when I need more love in my life (lost my father to COVID in July). I've been amazed and touched and inspired by so many of these stories. The unique perspective of each author about what love means to them is not just entertaining; it helped me feel less alone in a world requiring unprecedented distance. Thank you so much for sharing your stories and spreading the light of love in a world that needs more of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Giving, Receiving and Practicing Love – we all need to read this!
A compilation of the most touching and heartfelt stories of love.
Love Meets Life provides vastly different messages from dissimilar walks of life, with one major commonality – love.
This text is a profound example of our main purpose here in life – to love unconditionally. To experience love, to share love and to accept love.
Love Meets Life allows you to step outside of your own very personal bubble and view love on a much broader and global scale.
I was brought to tears and laughter through the many warm and relatable stories shared. The book unlike many others with the theme of love, shares authentic and organic stories with no cheesy or corny messages. A true page turner, one that is hard to put down because every story is so meaningful and empowering.
Much of the organizational work these authors have founded and participate in, is incredibly inspiring and motivating. Congratulations to all authors who bravely and generously shared their stories and offerings – exquisite!
Love Meets Life became a personal reflection piece as upon completion, I asked myself; What can I do? How can I help? How can I love myself more and extend this love outward into the community, the province, the country, the world?
A MUST read! Our world needs extraordinary love right now and Love Meets Life is the perfect stepping stone for inspiration to lead with love.
Love always wins.
