4.4 out of 5 stars 4,583 ratings

USA Today Bestselling author Claudia Burgoa presents a heartwarming, sexy romance about second chances and starting over.

After a week off the grid, I finally get reception and the first voicemail I hear stuns me.
“You’re summoned to Baker’s Creek by the late William Tower Aldridge.”

Twelve Years.
It’s been twelve years since the last time I heard from the Aldridge family.
That one voicemail changes everything—I need the money the late William offers.
In exchange, I have to live eighteen months in Baker’s Creek.
I’ve survived cancer, the jungle, and the plague.
This should be easy compared to all that, right?
Or so I think until...I see him.
Confident, charismatic, bitter, sexy as hell, Doctor Hayes Benjamin Aldrige.
My first love, my first kiss—my late husband’s brother.
He hates me.
He still hasn’t forgiven me for walking out on him, and I can’t blame him. It’s been over ten years, and I still have feelings for him.
But I faked it once and I can fake it twice.
I can survive eighteen months and that’ll be the last time I see the Aldridge brothers.

Isn’t it?

From the Author

Blaire Noelle Wilson is here.
My Blaire. But she's no longer mine.
Her striking blue eyes look a shade darker than I remember.I can't tell what she's feeling for me. She was acting strange.
Why is she here?
Because since my father died, I've been doing what I'venever done before. Praying for a miracle. For her.
It's probably something less magical and more practical.Like my father saying "take that, Hayes" in his own way. Well, the joke is onhim because seeing her doesn't make me angry. It makes me everything but.
If only I knew why she came. But that shouldn't matter now. She's here, and this is my chance to be back in her life. And the only way todo that is to earn her trust, and show her I am different from that coward shedated in college.
But can we become something more?
What if she's happy?
I can't ruin her new life just because I did that with mine.
Running a hand through my hair, I decide to go to theconference room. First, I need to know why Blaire is here, and Mr. Parrish cananswer my questions. But when I enter the conference room, Henry is speakingand already making some decisions.
"I vote that we sell the ski resort. It needs too muchwork."
"We don't know who gets the resort," I remind him.
"What if he split his fortune in equal parts?" He asks. "I'mnot running it for you, a$$holes."
"You own Merkel Hotels and Spas," I remind him. "You couldpotentially buy our shares and do something with it since you have experience."
"F$*k no!" He growls. "It's a money pit."
He's always growling like a wounded wild animal, pushingaway everyone, in case they're around to hurt him. I glare at him as a way toremind him I'm not part of his staff or in the mood to tolerate his f***ingattitude. I wish his assistant, Sophia, was here. She seems to know how tocontrol him. Instead, she's in town with Arden, Mills' son, and we get tobabysit her a$$hole boss.
"Have you heard from Vance?" I ask Mills.
"No. I have a friend searching for his unit," Henryinterrupts. "He's a Delta Force or some special forces officer. Did youknow that?"
I look at him. "Our little brother is a bada$$?"
"According to my sources, he is, and he's not easy to trackdown," he answers.
"As I mentioned, we need everyone to be here in order to readthis testament," the lawyer says in a monotone voice and checks his phone."Just a reminder, you're running out of time."
"We don't even want the f***ing money," Beacon says. "Keepit, man."
His green eyes, which look just like everyone else's, spitfire, even when his posture seems relaxed.
He sits next to Pierce. Both wear suits, but even thoughthey look alike, it's easy to see the differences between them. Pierce seemslike he's in his element while Beacon is about to rip off his clothes becausehe hates wearing suits.
It's surprising howsix guys, who came from the same father, can be so different.

Welcome to Baker's Creek

Welcome to Baker's Creek
This is going to be a fun series if this first book is anything to go on! Each of the Aldridge brothers will have their own book, and its going to be fun watching them all find the love the so desperately need. This is Hayes and Blaire's story and it's a second chance romance which I really enjoy reading. The background between Hayes and Blaire is simple yet complicated. The simple part is that they dated for two years before he broke things off to go to John Hopkins University for Medical School, the complicated part of it all is that Blaire went on and married Hayes' younger brother Carter, her best friend, before he passed away. Now for the really complicated part of it all, fast forward twelve years and Hayes' father has passed away and has called all of his sons to the reading of his will, since Carter has passed Blaire is to attend as his widow. Hayes and Blaire haven't seen one another since some hateful words were said but they still have feelings for one another. See what I mean about complicated! This was a great start to the series. This story not only gave us a a second chance romance to root for but it set up each of the next few stories very nicely. We get to know each of the brothers and what has been going on in their lives, and for me it was amazing to see how one person or maybe two, Blaire and Sophie, were able to get everyone to do the right thing even though just about everyone was against doing it. This book is for anyone that enjoys Contemporary Romance, Second Chance Romances, Small Town Romances, or Family Sagas. Happy Reading!!! **I have voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book for my Blog, Nadine's Obsessed with Books**

Claudia Burgoa has done it again! I absolutely loved Loved You Once; it is an incredible second chance love story. It is the first book in her The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series. I thoroughly enjoyed Loved You Once, and I am looking forward to reading the remaining books in the series. Claudia Burgoa shows that she is an amazing storyteller and has once again provided her readers with amazing characters. I love all the characters in Loved You Once, they feel like family! Loved You Once filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, I could not put it down, and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I love how Claudia Burgoa always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy men. I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. My favorite moments are the ones that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. Loved You Once is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments that I have come to love and expect in Claudia Burgoa love story, and she did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Loved You Once is a second chance love story between former lovers Blaire Wilson, physician assistant and founder of Carter’s Kids Foundation, and Hayes Aldridge renown orthopedic surgeon. Following the death of William Tower Aldridge and in accordance with his will, his six surviving sons Henry, Hayes, Pierce, Mills, Vance, and Beacon, and Blaire the wife of the late Carter must move to Baker’s Creek, Oregon for the next eighteen months to inherit William’s fortune. They cannot leave Baker’s Creek for the first six months, and they can leave for work for the following twelve months. Most of the Aldridge sons were the result of affairs that William had while married to Hayes and Carter’s mother, Cassandra. Blaire and Hayes have not seen each other in twelve years, when Hayes decided to change his plans and head to Maryland to attend Johns Hopkins Medical School instead of staying in California and closer to Blaire. They met when Blaire was moving into her dorm room, which was across the hall from Carter. Carter and Blaire became best friends, but Blaire and Hayes fell in love. Hayes must convince everyone to give up their lives and move to Baker’s Creek for the next eighteen months. If they do not agree the community will suffer because of their decisions and the stipulations of their father’s will. As Blaire and Hayes continue to spend more time together, things slowly begin to change between them. They share secrets that they have not revealed to each other before. Blaire confesses to Hayes the reasons behind her marriage to Carter and what she has been doing with her life. I love the chemistry between Hayes and Blaire. I love that both Hayes and Blaire were both so vulnerable and that each of them changes because of their love for one another. I love all the things that Hayes does for Blaire and his brothers to get them to move to Baker’s Creek. A surprise plot twist changes things between them. I love how everything gets resolved between them. I love all the donations that the Aldridge brothers make to Carter’s Kids Foundation, which helps Blaire hire additional staff to keep her dream alive. I love the changes that Hayes, and Blaire make in their lives to have a life with one another. My favorite part is the epilogue, especially with Hayes’s proposal and the surprise that is revealed. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Loved You Once, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between the Aldridge brothers, the characters feel like family and friends, I especially love their teasing that made me laugh. I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Loved You Once, who does not love a second chance love story? Highly recommend this incredible love story and am so looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

    Hayes and Blaire

I listened to the audio and enjoyed it. This is a second chance romance.

This is the first story in the series based on the second eldest of the Aldridge brothers. The brothers are summoned to Baker's Creek when their father has passed. Blaire is too because she is the widow of one of the youngest her best friend she met in college. Now she has to come face to face with the love of her life that broke her heart and with his brothers where half of them hate her. I thought this was cute and funny. The brothers and Blaire have to spend 18 months in Hayes's childhood home in order to get their inheritance which is not as important as saving the town and the people. The way they all interact is funny some of these brothers can't stand it seems like the three oldest and the youngest ones at least tolerate each other. Hayes is determined to get Blaire's forgiveness and to give them another try.
Real look forward to read/listen to the development of the brothers relationship and the woman that's going to win their hearts.
I received a copy and listened to it through Bookfunnel.

Roll up your sleeves and get ready to dive in to an awesome new series about six billionaire brothers. They share the same father but have different mothers. Yeah, William Aldridge was a dog, as well as a crummy human being. Aside from a few weeks here and there, the brothers didn’t all grow up together, so it’s no surprise that William's death is the thing that reunites them.

This family dynamic is the most messed up I’ve ever seen, and it doesn’t bode well for peace and harmony that these alpha men are forced to live and work together for the next eighteen months in order for any of them to inherit their father's estate. They’re required to vacate their homes around the country, live in their father's old house in the small town of Baker's Creek, and oversee William's businesses there.

Hayes Aldridge had his chance with Blaire Wilson years ago, but he made an epic mess of things. As the widow of the one brother Hayes grew up with, Blaire is included in the stipulations of William's will. (And Blaire's marriage to Carter is a very interesting side story.) Hayes has two goals: make amends with his brothers and win back Blaire.

While this story includes Hayes and Blaire's romance, it's about so much more. Foremost, it’s about family. Shared blood does not a family make, but sometimes family is willing to give you a second chance. It's also about taking responsibility for past actions, becoming a better person, and caring for others.

This first book in the Baker's Creek Billionaire Brothers series has been just enough to whet my appetite. I loved seeing Hayes and Blaire get their second chance, and I’m already enchanted by each of these brothers, all with their own distinctive personalities and back stories. I can’t wait to read each of their stories and see how this eighteen months plays out.

Come to Baker's Creek, the charming shall town with gossipy neighbors and an out-of-control social media feed. Meet the charming, somewhat grumpy, Aldridge brothers, but be prepared. They'll steal your heart before you know it and make you eager for more. This series has “can’t miss" written all over it, so jump in at the beginning with this phenomenal, funny, complex, heartwarming read!

I skimmed thru much of this book because I got tired of the brothers bickering. The parts about the dead brother marrying the GF of his brother wasn't clear to me. Hayes and Blaire were sweet together but I would have rather known more about their past than all the estate stuff.

5 favourite-moment stars! A fabulous start to a new series!

"Blaire Wilson stole my heart the day we met, and her memory makes it impossible to fall in love with anyone."

Hayes Aldridge has spent the last twelve years missing the love of his life. While he's questioning where his life is going, he gets the call that his father is on his death bed. Unfortunately, by the time he arrives at his bedside, it's too late. Little does he realise just how much his life is about to change.

"My heart is just like every muscle, it remembers Hayes, and if I'm not careful, it'll remember how to love him."

Blaire Wilson has spent the last twelve years trying to forget the love of her life. She's been travelling around the world and doing good wherever she goes. When she gets a summons to Baker's Creek, where the Aldridge family originates from, little does she realise how much her life is about to change.

"You're the stars of my night, the sun of my days."

This was such a fab read! We get an introduction to the Aldridge brothers and their messed up history. Blaire and Hayes were wonderful together. Twelve years apart didn't erase the connection and chemistry between them, and I loved that they came together so naturally and seamlessly. Blaire was sweet, honest and forgiving, and I loved how she didn't play games and was just straightforward with Hayes, even about her fears. I loved Hayes' bravery in putting himself out there, both with Blaire and with his brothers. There was no doubting his love, passion and devotion for Blaire, and his regret about the past, and his determination to pull his family together.

This story was humorous, romantic, and complex with family ties and undercurrents. I'm so excited for this whole series and the books to come!
