    Aww mobsters, they will always own my heart and Lucien is no different.

    Peter and Lucien, our MC’s, meet in the craziest way possible but their journey to accepting who they are is absolutely amazing.

    Oh and the sex isn’t that bad either, actually this book is steaming hot.

    I loved the way that even from the very beginning Lucien could just tell that Peter needed someone to be in complete control of him while Peter realized that Lucien needed someone to keep his human side from disappearing from doing his job.

    Oh and there are ponies. Everyone loves ponies except for Lucien it seems.

    Warning though if you don’t care for the dom/sub genre you might want to check out another book because this is definitely in that category.

    So these two were pretty dysfunctional, I mean Lucian basically kidnapped Peter, but they also burned with chemistry. Despite Peter’s initial fear of Lucien he couldn’t fight his overwhelming attraction to Lucien, and even though Lucien tried to keep his emotions out of it was clear from the start his need for Peter was just as emotional as it was sexual. I did like the background story as well, finding out who the mole was and what side Peter’s cousin would land at the end of this. I actually wouldn’t mind a story on Jimmy tbh cause I know there are stories for Lucian’s brother and cousin. I have read some of the spin-offs before this from the Vigilance and Theriot so it was nice to see where those worlds started. I would have liked a little more prologue and to see Lucian’s father fully welcome Peter into the family but maybe that will be touched on later in the series if in just a background way. Either way I enjoyed this a lot.

    Wow!! I’d been hearing how amazing this series was, so I waited to pick it up until I could binge all 3 books of the Marchesi Family. Honestly there is nothing I didn’t love about this book. There is action, dominance, super smoking hot sexy times and a Mafia family you have to know about. I was immediately in love with both Peter and Lucien. Peter was such a sweet and gentle soul, you wanted someone who was going to protect to him and claim him as their own. In comes Lucien, an alpha male Mafia boss who wanted to dominate and claim Peter as his own. Their chemistry was AMAZING. I loved Lucien’s brand of dominance and Peter’s sweet submission. I’m so sucked into the Marchesi Family I can’t wait to listen to the rest.

    If you’re an audio fan, I listened to this in audio based on recommendations. Everyone was right. Holy hotness, the narration of this is off the charts HOT. Michael Dean immediately pulled me into this story. His voice for Lucien was so perfectly rough and growly and I loved it. He did such an amazing job telling Lucien and Peter’s story. This is not an audio to be missed!

    I devoured this romance of innocent Peter Kelly and mafia boss Lucien Marchesi. We raced to find out the mole in his organization who was revealing Lucien’s plans to takedown his rival fellow mob boss Damian Ricci. As the romance progressed so did Peter and Lucien’s shared passion for one another. In Peter, Lucien finds his safe place to truly be himself while ruling a mafia empire. In Lucien, Peter finds strength and bravery where he previously thought he had none due to the love they share. This was a great read and I plan to finish the series with his brother Angelo and cousin Devil!

    This turned out to be a real good book. I'll get that out of the way first. But...

    Dub-con. For sure, dub-con. It turned into a surprisingly sweet romance. It could be argued that Peter developed Stockholm syndrome but I don't think so. His thought process is pretty clear and Lucien and Peter share some pretty gooey romantic moments. Lucien gave Peter choices; yes Peter was scared because of what he knew about lucien, but Lucien didn't threaten him. He was very intimidating though and because of that even though Peter was totally turned on any consent given in the start of their relationship is dubious at best. I genuinely felt their emotions though, and I don't think it took long to be a firm "go" from peter.

    Dark-lite. I kinda get that. It wasn't the dark gritty mafia story some people want, but it does have dark notes. Dark lite is actually a pretty perfect description.

    Overall I actually really liked this and I don't like many Silvia violet stories. The ones I do enjoy though, I really enjoy and This was one of them.

    I do a ton of reading, I can't help it I love reading as much as I love writing if not more. The difference being you don't need courage to enjoy losing yourself within someone else's imagination. Speaking of courage this book shows you how brave a man who doesn't see himself as having even an ounce of courage can be. Don't think I'm talking about the bravery to not run from the chance at love without an open promise of a secured future but no we all take that chance at one time or another.I am talking about a scared guy who summons the courage he didn't think he had to help save the man he tried not to love. But like we all must do they both needed to accept that they couldn't control their heart once it has become involved. This is a truly beautiful story of love, change and in the end acceptance. I'm looking forward to not only the next installment but in others written by Silvia Violet. Wow me again please.💫🤓💫

    With all the intensity that marks Ms Violet's books, this first book in The Marchesi Family series is simply WOW! This story about obsession and dominance that led to love. I enjoyed Lucien's reactions to his conflicting emotions and fears and Peter's not so quiet acceptance of Lucien. Their relationship in the middle of a complex plot of betrayal and intrigue kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time. I can't wait for the next books on this series. So dark...
