Murder After Dinner: a Northwest Cozy Mystery (Northwest Cozy Mystery Series Book 15) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 653 ratings

Deadly Desires and Dangerous Liaisons

In a world where reputation is everything, Kade was the talk of the town. With his notorious "bad boy" charm, he left a trail of broken hearts, backstabbed friends, and shadowy business dealings. But when the charismatic playboy is found dead after a lavish dinner party, it's clear that his life of excess had caught up with him.

As whispers and secrets begin to unravel, it's evident that Kade's allure had its dark side. Harper, the spurned ex-girlfriend, was reined in by her parents to stay away from his wild world. Kyran, poised to take over the company after the sudden demise of Kade's father, finds himself ensnared in rumors of foul play. Cooper feels betrayed by Kade’s cunning business maneuvers, and Jessica's life was forever altered by Kade's sinister act.

But among the potential suspects is Ivy, the poised CEO of Rosie's Seafood Company. Hosting the fateful dinner party, she had her own reasons for resentment. After all, a public humiliation in the world of business can be a motive too.

It's a puzzling maze of jealousy, revenge, and greed. As DeeDee, Jake, Detective Murphy, and even Georgie the cat dive into the intricate case, they realize that every guest has something to hide. With a multitude of motives and an array of suspects, they must sift through the lies to uncover the truth.

In this riveting mystery, passions run high, and old grudges come to light, proving that sometimes, the allure of the "bad boy" can be deadly. Dive into the 15th installment of the Northwest Cozy Mystery Series by a USA Today Bestselling Author, where every clue counts, and no secret is safe.

"Dianne Harman is the queen of cozies!" ~ Amy VanSant, USA Today Bestselling Author.Leanne MCC5.0 out of 5 stars Another WinnerReviewed in the United States on January 6, 2021I truly enjoy the way murder finds DeeDee and Susie as they cater meals in great locals in the Pacific Northwest. Jake , as DeeDee's husband, a professional PI is always there to assist in solving the case. Dianne Harman creates the best characters making you feel like you are right there and part of the group! Well worth picking up and enjoying Murder after Dinner.

In a switch for this author a cat helped detain the murderer!
There are "bad boys" and then there are mean, selfish boys who really don't care who they step on or hurt! Kade is both of the above! Women love him until he does them wrong-which he usually does. Men trust him until they realize that he will stab them in the back as soon as look at them! There is even a rumor that he murdered his own father! Needless to say no one really cared that he was in a massive car accident and died. He had left a swank party in a huff and drove off. DeeDee was catering the party and was worried that people would think it was the food she prepared--She ultimately called her husband for help. They helped the police figure out who did it and why. In a switch for this author a cat helped detain the murderer! Cat's can be very protective and intuitive just like dogs on occasion! My only complaint was that our ex Brooklyn mobster was not in this one--but then he would not have fit in with the type of people at this dinner party!!

It would be better, to me, if you didn't start with the main part of the story then go back with each character and tell an earlier part of each person's story. I guess I like my books, stories to follow a natural flow, and this doesn't. I think I might have given 5 stars if it had. I really love the Sweet Cove series though.

Thank you for another captivating Cozy Mystery. Your books are always easy to read and follow. I can finish your book in one sitting. It’s always nice to see the bad person get caught ar the end of the book. I have enjoyed over 100 of your books and kinda know your formula. But most of the time it is a surprise ending. I’m hooked. I love my Dianne Harman Kindle Bubble.

Deelish Catering scores again! DeeDee and Susie have a fancy dinner to prepare for at a very upscale home; with high security guests invited. DeeDee and Susie are in the kitchen getting the appetizers ready to serve and the home owner Ivy comes in and says everyone has arrived. The serving begins, lots of chatter and laughter then as dessert is served one guest starts talking loud until he’s yelling, then leaves. Next we know cops arrive, there’s been an accident. Oh no not again! DeeDee cakes Jake to come help her through all this. There are a number of suspects, lots of money involved, so you know this is a good book to be read!!😊😊
