My Kind of Perfect (A Trillium Bay Novel Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 2,532 ratings

From Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Tracy Brogan comes a sweet, funny Trillium Bay romance about moving on, creating your best self, and discovering the true meaning of love.

After her scandalous May-December romance comes to an end, baby of the family Lilly Callaghan returns home to Trillium Bay braced for the torrent of “I told you sos” from her sisters and the rest of the tiny island community. Floundering both personally and professionally, she’s at an emotional crossroads but determined to figure out her next best steps.

When a surprise job offer from her house-flipping sister reacquaints Lilly with handsome, free-spirited Wenniway Island transplant Matt Eastman, Lilly wonders if she’s ready for a new romance. Then she meets Hollywood heartthrob Jayden Pierce, who is filming a movie on the island, and she’s certain of it—but with whom? She’s caught the attention of both men, and both men have caught hers. So what’s a girl to do?

Earnest Matt shares her love of the close-knit island community, while surprisingly down-to-earth Jayden encourages her to live life outside her comfort zone. As the flirtatious triangle sets the town talking, Lilly must choose: Does she want to plant forever roots in Trillium Bay with Matt? Or follow a man who makes love stories for a living? Two very different men. Two very different futures. But deep down, Lilly knows that only one holds the promise of her kind of perfect.

Great book, 3rd book of the Trillium Bay Series
5 out of 5 stars
Great book, 3rd book of the Trillium Bay Series
This is the 3rd book in the Trillium Bay series, and boy did it live up to the previous two! Tracy writes with such detail and depth that it is easy to imagine the characters and scenes. The book takes place on the fictional Wenniway island, Michigan. The author makes it seem so real that you can practically smell the fudge and the horses of the island. Lily is the epitome of little sister, struggling to find her place as an adult in a family so brilliantly described that your heart will go out to her. After a failed May-Dec romance, she returns home to find herself in a position to be a love interest with two gentlemen. I adore the characters so much in this series and it was wonderful to see the relationships between the sisters deepen and get stronger. Harlan is their dad and he is a tough nut to crack being chief of police and all, but I loved reading his scenes with his youngest daughter. In the previous two books I felt like Lily was a little too self-absorbed and spoiled but this book really sees her coming into her own and I loved her. Over all, it was a great read and I bought it on audio book and paperback

Tracy Brogan is an author who can make me snort laugh and shed tears within the same paragraph, fall in love with a quaint island of 600 people, and pretty much grin through an entire book. With her quirky characters, sparkling dialogue, and heartwarming romance, she brings her fictional Northern Michigan island and its colorful citizens to life in this feel-good book - and series - that I am having so much fun reading.

I really enjoyed Lilly's journey. I was ready for her to find herself and move forward to explore her own dreams rather than someone else's. It was immensely rewarding to watch her grow throughout the book, find her voice, her value, and stand up for what she wanted. What she deserved. I was cheering her on the entire way.

As with older sisters Emily and Brooke, Lilly's story is filled with humor, self-reflection, strong but sometimes complex family bonds, and sigh-worthy, though often complicated, romance. The quirky citizens of the island - including Lilly's family - once again add an abundance of humor and heart to the story while the Hollywood film crew are a surprisingly fun addition, especially heartthrob Jayden who turned out to be totally different from what I expected. I also enjoyed the peek behind the scenes of a movie set through the eyes of Lilly, her firecracker of a grandmother, and her star-struck, teenage niece. And then there's sexy, laid-back Matt Eastman, a relatively new addition to the island, affectionately referred to as Yoga Matt by the locals and enthusiastically admired by single women of many ages, who turned out to be a much more complex guy than I anticipated.

If you're looking for a fun, flirty, summer read that brims with humor, heart, family, and, just possibly, the perfect love for Lilly Callaghan, add My Kind of Perfect to your reading list. I laughed, cried, and smiled from beginning to end...which seems to be my normal progression with each Tracy Brogan book I read.

If this is your introduction to Brogan's Trillium Bay series, don't miss out on Lilly's sisters' stories in the first two books: My Kind of You and My Kind of Forever!

In this we get Lilly’s story. I’d met her in her sisters’ books; the younger sister with a much older man, but now we get all of her thoughts and feelings.

I liked watching her relationship with Matt grow and develop. They are a cute couple. Matt is not the granola airhead he appears to be in earlier books. He’s a good guy.

The movie on the island theme was an added bonus. Who wouldn’t want to cavort with movie stars!!

These are sweet books with interesting characters. Worth the read!

I chose this rating because all three books of the Trillium Bay were so interesting and it was fun experiencing each sisters story. I am going to read the Bell Harbor series next. I am definitely a fan of Tracy Brogan. Keep them coming!

I am a huge fan of Tracy Brogan and have recommended her books to at least a half dozen friends of mine, all of whom LOVE them and can’t wait for the next one. My Kind of Perfect is the third book in the Trillium Bay series and continues the story of the Callaghan sisters, specifically the youngest sister Lilly. This book tells the story of Lilly’s return to her family, whom all live on Trillium Bay island, with hopes she can get her life back on track after a May to December romance with an older man who has ties to her sister. Lilly meets two very different men and has to decide where her heart will lead her. The characters are so wonderfully developed and they are people that you can relate to with all of their closeness, disfunction, and endearing self-deprecating humor. Absolutely love the Callaghan family and friends. This was another laugh-out-loud book and it very much kept me entertained throughout the entire read. Would definitely recommend it!

This book was fun to read and listen to. I enjoy a good feel good book. It was predictable thought which for me was awesome since if there was suspicion about how it would end I would have to read the last chapter after the fist few chapters.

Why did everyone get to be mean to Lilly? Why did Zen Matt get to give her the cold shoulder while she stayed back and pined for him? I was frustrated for most of this book. While I still enjoyed the general Tracy Brogan small town vibes and hilarity, I'm not sure why Matt wouldn't want to stand by Lilly when she's hurting and the town is against her. Sure he'd been hurt before, but everyone was talking bad ABOUT HER TO HIM. He couldn't tell them to mind their own business? Instead of making me miss romance, this one made me happy I'm single.

I read the previous 2 books in this series and I definitely wanted to continue with this book. I am so happy to hear that there will be a book 4! (and maybe a book 5).

Tracy Brogan is a fairly new-to-me author, and I am so happy to have found her books. Her characters are life-like and I care about them. The plot is developed so well and flows easily. Her settings are fantastic, and I feel transported into the story rather then just reading.

I enjoyed this book and the entire series and I look forward to the future adventures that are set on Trillium Bay.

Cela valait l'attente!
