Although I really love all of Dianne's books--Athe Northwest Cozy Mystery Series is by far my favorite. l love Al De Duco, the ex mobster turned private investigator with his Brooklyn accent is my favorite. Al turned his life around and now has a loving wife and a very faithful dog named Red. That his methods as a PI are sometimes not exactly legal--he and his partner get the job done! Al got a phone call from his ex friends--one of them needed his help. Big hearted Al took off to help. He had to figure out who was sending death threats to it turned out two of his friends. They all really though it was someone from one of the old gangs. Twists and turns until they finally figure it out. Luckily a stray dog that they had taken in and named Hero saved their lives!! On a happy note most of his old gang had gone straight AND Al's wife has a big surprise for him when he gets home!

    Opening chapter, one of Al’s friends from his old life has called needing Al’s help for one of their friend, Deacon. So Al discusses it with Cassie and then packs to go up to Portland. Al loves Cassie so much he hates to leave her by herself. But , yes there is trouble in Portland! Al learns that one of the former mob guys is now out of prison and visiting in Portland with his girlfriend. Well Al arrives and his buddy starts calling everyone they know back in the day. Even an old girlfriend. Well, trouble happened; the next day they found their friend Pete dead. Well, they weren’t sure why he was killed but the two other men had notes on their home doors, I coming for you…. Guess that meant to kill. I’ll not tell you any more, I want you to read and enjoy the twists and turns and Al’s welcome home!

    There are only 17 books. The next is a set of the first onrs. I do like Dianne Harman as a writer. These books start in Washington state,she gets to travel to Whistler in Canada,Italy and other places. It is a good set to read. Have fun on your trip !!!
