Incredible Mafia Read! Highly Recommend!
This is the first book in the Lethal Beauty & Smoking Steel series, and I have to say, I am 100% hooked! I could not take my eyes away from this story! And holy crap! I’m still reeling over that ending! I absolutely loved the storyline. The action, the intrigue, the steam, it is oh so good! I especially loved how Dom took in Selene and loved her like a daughter! It warmed my heart to see how he treated her and talked to her with such fatherly love! I am in love with the characters in this story! Selene is a strong, smart mouthed, sexy, and brave woman who is not afraid to express her sexuality! And the men? Can you say HOT! I loved that they each have their own skill set and usefulness to Selene! They all fit together perfectly, which I’m sure was Dom’s intention. I can’t wait to learn more about all of their backstories! This is an incredible mafia read that I highly recommend. I am very excited to see where the next book takes the story and characters.

    This book starts out with Selene and a case of being in the Wrong place wrong time homeless walking through an old ally and stumbles on a murder she was 17 at the time. She turned 18 a month later and Dominick Romanov head of the mafia took her in. 9 years later she is still working for the mafia as a high end escort at a club they own called Sub Rosa.
    She and Dominick have gotten close over this time he considers her his daughter!!!
    Selene is funny and witty. Octavia is her best friend and the two of them are a hoot!!
    Then the men in her life🔥🔥
    Frank, Joe, Godfrey and Viktor!!
    Dannngggggg the girl is lucky.
    There is a possible 5th too!!
    So much happend in this book and I will not put any spoilers🤭
    I can’t wait to read book 2!!!

    I really enjoy reading a mafia romance and this book really delivered that. Selene is a badas$ female main character mostly because she was forced to take care of herself from a young age. I loved how her connection to Dominik brought out a softer side to the mafia boss. Add some swoonworthy men to the mix and you have a solid foundation for an entertaining series.

    While I did like this book, I wanted more character development. Except for Frank and Jaime, all the other men lacked some depth. I missed the way the relationship between the main characters developed. One moment they were moving in her apartment building and the next they were in a relationship. There was some instant attraction but further development was glossed over pretty quickly. On the other hand, the character development of Frank was amazing. The way Selene and Frank slowly grow towards each other is exactly my cup of tea.

    This book was action-packed. there is so much going on with Selene, Dominik and Octavia you can't help but continue reading to find out what's going on.

    Overall I really liked the plot idea, but there were multiple occasions where I had the feeling that some scenes could use some fleshing out to avoid plot holes. There were these moments where I felt like we just jumped from one scene to another without a solid transition. The author shows a lot of potential and I'm certain that with a good content editor this series would become even better.

    Gah I seriously need book 2 today 🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️ this is my first book by Darcy Ray and it was life! Selene is our main girl who was taken in by Dom the head honcho in the mafia and raised as his daughter, she’s fierce, loyal and a complete bad as*. She takes charge when sh*t gets real and knows how to handle the tough situations. Her guys are just as amazing and freaking sexy as sin! Godfrey our little Asian assassin, Joe our blue eyed Russian, Viktor our chiseled hunk, Jamie our new recruit and ol loyal Frank 😘 I can’t wait to watch her get revenge and become even more killer!

    This story has enough potential that I read the entire first book despite the typos and the like. I really enjoyed some of the characters but the term “show me, don’t tell me” came to mind often. Specifically when there is jumps in time only shown by a sentence saying weeks have passed. But there are times where this feels like a high school freshman’s version of the mafia.

    Freaking loved this book. There were times where I thought the FMC would do the right thing and then she blows someone's head off. Love it! Her first murder? I was cheering in my head. The story line is gripping and intense and keeps you turning the page to find out what's next. I am in love with the Male interests, especially Frank. He's mine. It's such an unusual book and certainly goes outside of the norms when it comes to mafia books but it's well worth it. Would recommend over and over. I cant wait to reread it. Plus-Darcy is kinda a badass.

    So this book has been sitting in my to be read pile for a while and I just not got to read it. So here we have Selene who is living off the streets and happens to be at the wrong place. Well this just might have changed her whole life. She becomes the daughter to the Romanov Mafia. She has her moments where she enjoys what she does but is lacking something in life. She has a crush on her bodyguard but nothing comes of that, which is sad. However she does meet some pretty handsome men that are now living across from her. So here we establish a lot but we learn more about Selene. I was not sure where this story was going to go however it was a great set up to meet the key players in the story line. However amongst everything going on chaos ensues and loyalties are tested. Some things to me were made obvious and others not. It will keep you guessing as to what is going on or what can happen. We do get left hanging so hold on tight to see what will happen.

    The story is well writen overall, yet sometimes some extra details would be nice to make it a great story. We know nothing about Dom or why he took Selene under his wing. Same the guys are all too happy to get into the relationship after hinting they know Selene but there is no follow up on this tidbit of background info. Still it is a nice book!

The plot was intriguing, and I can't wait to see where it goes in the next installment. The characters were really well developed with unique personalities and hey, who doesn't like a good, well written RH?

    This is a good start to the series and Selene is a badass who is confident in her own skin. There were some elements that I questioned, like why she wouldn't push Tavia more when she repeatedly showed up injured if she was her best friend.

    She seems a little self absorbed but I suppose living in the world that she does it would be difficult to be any other way.

    I'm looking forward to seeing how the characters develop in the series, particularly the relationship between Selene and Jaime who we don't see much of in this book.

    All in all I thought it was a good book with a FMC who isn't squeaky clean but you love anyway because shes sassy. Looking forward to book 2!
