I found books when I was going through a hard time in life. They became my means of escape when things got bad. I realized quickly how much I loved to take a backseat to someone else's life and watch the journey unfold. That began my journey with books in November of 2012. I constantly had a book open on my Kindle app. Never in a million years would I have imagined myself as a writer, because I never thought I was creative enough. I'm living proof that things will fall into place when they're meant to be. People will make their way into our lives when we don't expect it, setting the path for what we are meant to do. Never give up on people. Never stop taking a chance on others. Someone took a chance on trusting me with her work when she didn't know me from a stranger on the street and gave me the opportunity of a lifetime as our relationship progressed, which led me to editing and writing as well. This is my dream I never knew I had. As soon as I sat down and gave writing a shot, it was like the floodgates opened. Now, I am lost in a world of fiction in my head, new characters constantly screaming for their stories to be told. Continue to dream and to go for them. First of all, if this is on your TBR list, bump it to the top NOW! I waited far too long to read this book, and it’s one of the best I’ve read in a while. I’m contemplating 5 stars, which is rare for me because that would mean this book is one of the best I’ve ever read. That’s quite a commitment, as is this read. This is a full-length, dark and sexually charged story with devastating situations, psychological triggers, a sweet tinge of madness, and compelling characters that are not going to be far from me for a long time. Do not take this read lightly. Settle in, savor it, and let yourself feel it. Too much? Then go find a romantic comedy. Kaston and Lux have needs and your full attention is one of them, they deserve it. If you want to know what the story is about, read the full synopsis. Lux and Kaston are both damaged at the core of their being and had two very different paths to finding each other. At the risk of sounding dramatic, their darkness’ finds each other randomly and recognize each other as a need instantly. Their hearts are what struggle to accept it. Both characters have their individual stories given full attention by the author prior to being together, and while it makes for a longer beginning to their story, it was so well done that you realize how necessary it was. It gives you a connection to each of them. It’s long, but not frivolous. I see that readers who did not like this read, either didn’t get far before they made up their mind or their reviews showed a lack of comprehension of the story. Basically, they just didn’t get it. Stories this good take time, and Charisse Spiers obviously put a lot of time into this. It gave you a chance to understand them, therefore, care about them. Nothing is sugar coated; Lux and Kaston are beyond rough around the edges. The profanity, the sex, and the darkness were all a part of their reality. You have to be willing to go there with them and the reward is amazing. There are a lot of layers here with what Lux and Kaston each have to go through. Again, these are damaged people, and for love to conquer all, it is a process. I’m not even sure who was more “Alpha”! I laughed out loud, but worse than that, I cried (Damn you Charisse Speirs!), on more than one occasion. I don’t cry. I’m not a crier. And yet, ½ a box of Kleenex later, I’m grinning like a damn Cheshire Cat. Bring on Kross and Delta, I dare you! And thank you. This book was amazing. Ok, 5 stars it is.

I was about to give up on this book, but I prefer to finish a book when I can so I pushed on. I am glad I did even though the beginning is slow and a bit confusing. This book was very dark, there seemed to have more than enough sexcapades and I felt some was unnecessary but there to titillate the readers. It did help to set up the personalities of the main characters.
What I liked about the book is that it told the story back and forth from the female (Lux) and male (Kaston)’s point of view. I really felt I understood what drove the characters and this added to the enjoyment. What irritated me was Lux’s stubbornness in accepting her feelings and acting out of fear. That however was part of the angst she lived with. There were a few grammatical errors where the subjective and objective case was incorrect. For me these errors was like nails on a blackboard.
If you can deal with a lot of sex and dark personalities, you might enjoy this book.

Marked is well written and I LOVED every minute of reading this story. Kaston and Lux are so many things and this book was different. GOOD different. These are two alpha characters, two independent individuals and demanding. Together they are a dynamite couple that I could not get enough of.

I was drawn in from the beginning and knew right away Kaston would be hard for me to let go. I still haven't gotten him out of my head. That prologue...goodness. Some people (fictional of course) you just want to beat six feet into the ground. I HATED HER. Still do. The things Kaston was subjected to shaped him into the man he became, the man her was meant to be for Lux.

Lux...oh how I love her and have a huge girl crush on that woman. Her past was hard to read and digest. It was heartbreaking and there were moments when my emotions her so high that I forgot this was fiction. She is strong and brave and bigger than life. She had a lot to overcome in this story.

I am forever marked by Kaston Cox and Lux Larson. This is a must read.

As far as dark romance goes this tops the list. Just like everyone says 'when you find the one you just know' and you'll do everything in your power to love them and protect them. This was a phenomenal story. I wasn't sure if I was going to like the book or Kaston and Lux based on the summary. But Charisse sucked you in and you just have to finish this book in one sitting. Both came from hard and similar childhoods that it wasn't avoidable that Kaston and Lux would fight for their foreplay until they would actually do it.

Kaston to Lux "No matter how many times you run I'll chase you, how many times you hide I'll find you, or how many times you close off I'll open you back up. If you fall I'll catch you. You jump I'll jump with you. I'll never f*****g give up on you, because no matter what you say I know you love me too. One day you'll realize it. One day you'll trust me. I will never leave you, forsake you, nor will I stop loving you. No one is better for me than you. I know that's what you think with her. It's written all over your face. I will spend the rest of my f*****g life showing you and everyone else. I've promised in blood, I'll put a ring on your f*****g finger, and I'll bind myself to you with a legal contract if that's what it takes . As I've said before the only way out of this is in a box with no heartbeat. If you think I'm bluffing , then call me on it. I have no f*****g problem proving it. They say love makes people crazy and I guess they're right, because I would f*****g kill for you without blinking."

OMG this book had a little bit of everything in. Two people having similar childhoods but one gets a break and the other is still fighting . Kaston lives to lives one of good and one of dad doing good. Lux lives life in a routine that helps her cope with her childhood. But a chance meeting sets a ball in motion. There is plenty of spice to this book now off to read book 2

Kaston lived the first 8 years of his life with his mother, who cared more about her next fix than anything. Then his father takes him away from her and gives him a better life, but teaches him how to become a killer. Lux wasn’t as lucky ... she didn’t have a father to save her from her mother. But she survived and left that life behind when she was 18. When Lux is 25, she meets Kaston and her life will never be the same.

This is a very dark story and had quite a few disturbing scenes that just left me speechless. There is also lots of sex in this book. Kaston and Lux are 2 broken souls that grew up under horrendous circumstances and I couldn’t help but think “how can anyone get over something like that ... never mind a child.” The story just drew me in and wouldn’t let me go.
