5.0 out of 5 stars Slow pace - but with a solid reason!

As I read Book 1, it seemed to be slow enough for reading a page just before closing my eyes. So I checked the author's website and there it explained why. Now I am on the 4th novel having ordered 5 and 6 as well! Since I originate in Scotland and familiar with both the lowlands and highlands, it is authentic and enjoyable. The series is a great contrast to the millions of books using up-to-date crime technologies, yet it still conveys a reasonable level of these times that we live in. Love them!

An unusual location and a small but charming band of police officers, combined with exciting storylines, make this an interesting and enjoyable read. The characters become delightfully familiar and the plot kept you on tenterhooks. Thank you!
