Mind Switch: A Mystery Thriller (Brainstorm Book 2) Kindle Edition
On that day, he was born into terrorism—a supporter of violent jihad, an avowed destroyer of America and its NATO allies.
Those who saw him and heard him as he turned and stumbled away, described the ghastly sound that escaped his lips as a scream of grief, but it was not—it was the primal scream of birth.
Days later, climbing higher into the bleakest part of the Hindu Kush mountains of Afghanistan, every hour, what kept him going when he was hardly conscious from fatigue was one refrain—the words of his father; “the steps of the stairway to heaven you have to build yourself.”
But over the days of his grueling journey, those words had come to mean something different to him. He no longer believed in heaven or hell or Allah, anymore. On January 1, 2010, when those bombs exploded and killed his family, Allah were killed with them. From that moment on, there would only be the stairway to revenge, and he would build the steps to it himself.
MIND SWITCH, the second book in the thought-provoking Brainstorm series is a full-length novel. It is a nail-biting suspense-thriller with unexpected twists, mind-bending science, and captivating concepts which readers will be mulling over long after they've read the last page.
It is highly recommended that you read the first book, SIGMA WAVE before you read MIND SWITCH.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2023Once again, these two books - set keep me coming back. I have read sixteen previously published and about to finish the others. Keep going; characters, plots, backgrounds, twists....I can never finger out
- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2018Scary that this fiction could become reality. Technology is advancing so fast. What is intended for good can also be used for bad.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2018I have been waiting for this one with bated breath. It was worth the wait. Mind Switch is the other half of the story. Another outstanding page turner by JC Ryan. Another masterful blending of real science with fiction that kept me thinking long after I finished reading the book. It was entertaining and thrilling to read this book. My only reservation or advice to other readers would be to make sure that you read Sigma Wave first - then Mind Switch.
Ryan did his homework, the research that went into this book must have been massive. Combined with Ryan’s vivid imagination, the result is a masterful plot, an excellent story, and believable science. At times it's outright scary to realize just how much of what Ryan has weaved into this story is true and real scientists are really working and succeeding in editing memories, altering moral judgment, creating false memories, and hacking into people’s brains - scary!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2019JC Ryan Wins Gold with this book set of 2.
Sigma Wave followed by Mind Switch. Read in order. JC Ryan has a gift for intertwining facts, technology and fiction together, leaving the reader hanging by their toenails, gripping the books until that very satisfying last pages. The technology in these books I have to say are super scary to me. The idea that a mad scientist can take over innocent unsuspecting minds is horrific. Even more so is knowing that technology is out there now and further development is coming. Where do the boundaries stop? I will be thinking about the Ethics of this long after I finished these last pages. Great Book Set!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2021I love Ryans books to the nth degree. They are spellbounding in detail. I want to sit and have coffee so bad with this brilliant writer. Is tomorrow too soon?
- Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2018Just amazing! Ryan makes it seem so real it's scary. There is so much detail the story drags in places, but it adds to the credibility of the story. If part of the timeline wasn't in the future I'd believe it was happening real-time.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2018J.C. Ryan has done it again . A stunning page turner that reflects the technology and times we're in. A Ludlum like novel that will keep you up all night.
