About the author

New York Times Bestselling author Jocelynn Drake loves a good story, whether she is reading it or writing one of her own. Over the years, her stories have allowed her to explore space, talk to dragons, dodge bullets with assassins, hang with vampires, and fall in love again and again.
This former Kentucky girl has moved up, down, and across the U.S. with her husband. Recently, they’ve settled near the Rockies.
When she is not hammering away at her keyboard or curled up with a book, she can be found walking her dog Ace, or playing video games. She loves Bruce Wayne, Ezio Auditore, travel, tattoos, explosions, and fast cars.
She is the author of the urban fantasy series: The Dark Days series and the Asylum Tales. She has recently completed a gay romantic suspense series called The Exit Strategy about two assassins falling in love and trying to create a life together, as well as a MM paranormal romance series featuring a family of vampires.
She has co-authored with Rinda Elliot the following series: Unbreakable Bonds, Ward Security, Pineapple Grove, and the Weavers Circle. She has also co-authored with AJ Sherwood the Scales 'N Spells dragon series. She can be found at JocelynnDrake.com.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2019You can’t help but adore Drew. He’s almost but not quite a typical sassy twink. And the Grumpy Chef has a bit more to him than being a bear to work with.
Five Charming Stars. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2019These authors are an auto-buy for me. Their Unbreakable Bonds series is in my top 5 M/M series of all time, and I've re-read the individual books multiple times. I know I'm going to get excellent writing, a good story, and clean editing (and no silly typos) with these two. In this regard, Drew and Mr. Grumpy did not disappoint. Drew and Carson definitely have sexual chemistry. But even in a novella, I want to feel like the MCs have found their HEA mate. I just didn't get that feeling for Drew and Carson. Perhaps, it's because Drew spent so much of the time being a brat. These authors can create this type of character quite well, so I was disappointed that I didn't come to like Drew, even with his redemption. I hope we'll see more of these two, and if their relationship lasts, as secondary characters in the next full length book in the series. I only give 5s to books I'll reread, so this is only getting a 4 from me for that reason alone.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2019This was kind of “meh.” I felt like it was leading up to an exciting plot like Drake and Elliot’s other books, but then it just ended. Even though I didn’t expect an action plot, I did expect a full novel. I guess I didn’t check the page length. Just know that this is a novella, not a full length book like the first one. Then you won’t be unpleasantly surprised like me.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2019Absolutely adorable! We get a little Pineapple Grove treat, it’s such an amazing universe, and we get to see some Wes’.
Drew and Carson are just a dynamic package ready to blow. Drew is adorable, sweet, energetic and caring, while our Mr. Grumpy is a sexy bear, ready for some loving!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2019Well written bubble gum pop of m/m romance, and the perfect length for that sort of thing. Very likeable main character. It was easy to ship these two. I enjoyed it.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2019Carson and Drew deserved a full story and book and a happily ever after. Not enough sexy parts. That is why I don’t like short stories. The author can rewrite this story or continue the story she only started. I did enjoy 😉 what there was.

It's an easy fast read. One single problem to solve and one single plot to go. Not bad but might be too simple for some people. I also agree with some reviews that the issue between he two main characters were a little twisted and not supposed to be solved in the way the book chose.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2019Holy chemistry! These two are wickedly cute together. I laughed my butt off in the beginning too. Hilarious and sweet all in one!

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet little story
Drew knew what he wanted and Carson was cautious for reasons. They were cute together. Looking forward to reading the next story. Really hope there is a Jamison and Lincoln story soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Short and fun
The story was super short but fun to read. Drew was a quirky character, and balanced out Carson's grumpy character pretty well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent

4.0 out of 5 stars My second visit to Pineapple Grove
Wilton Cottage B&B could not have asked for a more prefect man at the front desk reception than friendly and sunny as the Florida sun Drew. He loves his job and preparing little surprises for the guests. Carson is the B&B's kitchen Grinch and moodwise the complete opposite to Drew. But as so often opposites seem to attract immensely. Drew is trying hard to wring out at least a smirk of the grumpy chef, but Carson brushes Drew off rudely. A local Fair brings them together again as their boss Wes wants them both to managed the B&B's presentation booth there. Is this a second chance to become friends and maybe even more?
The cover of this book and the first sentence made my smile instantly. This novella was an enjoyable and light read, although I felt kind of cheated on the hot scenes. I found Drew's overtures way too much and could understand why Carson felt more unnerved than flattered. And I had some trouble understanding Drew's attraction to such a gloomy Mr.Grumpy. But their getting to know each other better and learning their past stories, was sweet and heart warming. Hope there will be a chance of meeting both men, as well as all the other characters from book 01, again in Wesley's story next!

5.0 out of 5 stars Things get hot in the kitchen
A great short story based in Pineapple Grove.
Can Drew persuade Carlton to take a risk on romance? Or will the head of their passion burn them?
I really enjoyed their interactions in this fast paced story v
