    I got this ebook for free via BookBub, and chose it because I generally love British chick lit novels. It was a disappointment.

    First, there was no actual plot. Stuff happened, and then other stuff happened, and people did things- too much like real life, and not enough like a good novel! This meant pretty much no tension throughout the book, since the only slight problems that came up were because people were acting out in silly, childish ways.

    I really do not see how this diverse crew could be good friends. Often they don't seem to like each other much, which comes out in sniping. I have not read the previous books- and don't plan to- but the premise as cited here is far too frail to build a solid friendship on. (I have often wondered that about the gals in "Sex and the City", too- however did they meet? Given that every one disapproves profoundly of all the life choices of the other three, why on earth do they hang out together? Surely they could find more sympatico drinking buddies...)Stating that there is a solid bond is vastly different from showing it, and here I just could not see it. Heck, I couldn't even see why Brian and Marie were together- they have less than nothing in common.

    Now, sometimes one can use a very, very light read, like if one were sick or in the hospital, and wanted pleasant with no angst. This would suit. I can't really recommend it otherwise.
