Ms Harmon's main characters are instantly likeable, and the plots always kept me guessing until the reveal at the end. She also made Bainbridge Island and other locations in the books so real that I found myself momentarily disoriented whenever I'd look up from the page. I definitely want to read more installments in this series!

While the books are Ok the author is having the main character break laws by taking her pet dog to places it is not allowed as she tells people it is a medical alert then therapy dog. As a Service Dog trainer and owner I find this very annoying. The community of SD handlers and owners are currently having issues with pet dogs attacking their well trained SD that cost around $15,000-$20,000. Many dogs cannot work after the attack leaving the person in dire straits. Possibly encouraging people to bring totally untrained pets into businesses is just wrong.

    I like Dianne Harkins book. Each series is about a female cook and how she gets involved in trying to solve murders. This series is about Dee Dee who went through a divorce and is starting her own business. I recommend reading all of her books.
