An owl and a necromancer
Alden has been tasked by the shifter council to look into some rogue necromancer(s). He has a contact the ambassador between necromancers and other councils Rory. Ever since he met her he’s changed and he doesn’t quite know why. Rory is a necromancer but an outcast as she’s no desire to hurt others to use her magic. She’s being used by her council as a spy but is reluctant to trust them. She has strong feelings for Alden but is nervous to move forward due to her innocence and her people’s reputation. But fate won’t be denied and the two seal their mating bond. When the rogue comes hunting for Rory will they be able to stop him in time?
Sweet with heat romance. I liked the contradiction for lack of a better word that Rory is. Innocent and necromancer seems like they would never fit one persons but she is that. Alden is gentle and overprotective it’s surprising they didn’t figure out who they were to each other sooner. I thought this would be on the darker side but it’s not at all. Very enjoyable read!
