The Highland Dance journey continues in this third level of My Highland Dance Notebook for the Novice Level. Continue to inspire and motivate your dancer with this organizer keepsake tool that you and your dancer will appreciate for years to come. As in level one (Primary) and two (Beginner), this notebook provides subtitled blocks for you or your dancer to record instructions so easily forgotten after dance class, and a check chart to monitor and check practice efforts for each week (enough for an entire year of the journey). Badge pages for each of the dances commonly learned in the Beginner level congratulate your student for their hard work and motivate them to continue the journey! Competitions are tracked and logged in the fourth helpful section of this notebook, along with a competition checklist so no essential piece of costume is left behind. Lastly, a memoire section will document your dancers thoughts and feelings during this important time of their life. An irreplaceable and valuable resource that you and your dancer will treasure for many years!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great practice tool for dancers

I really enjoy these notebooks for my little highland dancers.
I love that it gives an incentive to my kids to practice their dances. I do wish there were Saturday and Sunday slots though as they do practice those days when there isn't a competition as they don't compete every single weekend. So they get bummed that they miss out on their sticker reward for those days

For the novice book I wish the hullachan and reel shared a spot rather than fling and sword. Fling and sword is done much more frequently in competition and rarely is a hullachan and reel done at the same competition. It would leave this spot for feedback as needed where I feel fling and sword are staples that need to be constantly refined even though they are some of the first dances learned.

I love the competition pages. I only wish there were more of them.
All in all a great book and a great tool for Highland dancers. I will and have purchased more as they've filled them out or move categories.
