Tales of the Odalisque (The Austen Series) Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 199 ratings

From New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Josie Litton
Welcome to the Odalisque, the world’s most exclusive club
intime. Kindly leave your inhibitions at the door (clothing is optional). If this is your first visit, a few words of explanation may be in order. The tall, lithely muscular and all-around stunningly handsome man lounging at the bar is the club’s founder and owner, Lucius Belmont. “Luscious Lucius” some call him. Others are more inclined to mutter about his resemblance to Lucifer. A word to the wise, enjoy your visit but do nothing to vex him. Especially not now.

Lucius is pre-occupied with a problem unlike any he has encountered before. That rarest of creatures--a virgin--has wandered into his circle of debauchery. Natalia Bollinger is everything she should not be--exquisitely beautiful, unbearably arousing, and uncannily able to penetrate all his hard-won defenses. But Natalia is guarding secrets of her own that will pit her against Lucius in an epic showdown of vice versus virtue. Before your visit is over, limits will be tested, lines will be crossed, and all the rules will be broken. Take a seat. The show is about to begin!

Although inspired by my earlier work, “His Lordship’s Downfall”, also available on Amazon, “Tales of the Odalisque” is a standalone novel with no cliffhanger. You need not have read “His Lordship’s Downfall” to enjoy this story but of course, I hope that you will do so. Please be aware that while this story is M/F, monogamous and HEA, it contains intimate scenes that some may find disturbing. Read at your own discretion.

Natalia is searching for her half sister who told her she was going to apply for a job at the Odalisque. She hasn't heard from her in six months and is worried about her. Natalia is a virgin and decides to apply to the Abbey to auction off her virginity so she can gain access to Odalisque. Lucius is the owner of the Odalisque where the Abbey offers its virgins after they are fully trained in the sexual arts. Natalia draws Lucius's attention and he ends up training her in hopes of finding out who she really is and what she's really after. I loved this book and read it in one day. I would love to read more about Natalia and Lucius and definitely more tales from the Odalisque. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. I also purchased my own copy. Patsy Sacco

I originally got a copy of this as an ARC. I was so excited about this book that I waited til release day to read. I wanted it fresh cause I just knew I would love it. I was right this book was fabulous. Lucien and Natalie were incredible. I swear I could touch their flames. Ms. Litton's words wrapped around me like a cuddly blanket. I didn't stop reading til the last word. Lucien was a naughty boy. He knew Natalie was up to something. So he became her model. Wow oh wow did the heat and flames kick up. She put up a good fuss but their chemistry won out. I enjoyed Adrian showing up in this book. I hope there is MORE to come. I loved it.

Since all naughty book multi-billionaires are ruggedly handsome, at lest slightly dom and have time to lavish on other than their sources of income, author Josie Litton presents “Luscious Lucius” Belmont owner, operator of a virgins for sale night club the Odalisque and when he has time he makes himself important to King and Country. Ready to sacrifice anything is the spy in his midst, the powerful and clever warrior woman, also over the top gorgeous Natalia Bollinger. Warrior Woman is ready to sacrifice anything to learn the whereabouts of her lost sister. Coincidentally Natalia is at least slightly sub and wonder of wonders a virgin. Dare we suggest, a sacrificial virgin?

Not sure how many of the stars have to align before you accept the sight of a warrior woman being put through a series of what would be humiliations and abuse, except that: 1 She can quit at any time and 2 She likes them. Lest this be a book about sex trafficking, all of the virgins who are to be sold are also volunteers and can leave at any time. I guess there are to be considered as the kinds of women who choose to seek out sugar daddies, only at a much more lucrative level.

As naughty books go Tales of the Odalisque is more suggestive than explicit. Litton can bring on the heat, but only on occasion and never for very long. What struck me was not so much the titillation factor but the fact that the book has an actual plot and remains true to it. Luscious and Natalia are drawn to each other, a physical attraction initially but one that will be reinforced by something akin to mutual respect and common traits. We never get anything like a romance novel, but neither do we have to gaze at the fireworks in the night sky as the train rushes through the tunnel.

There is reason to believe that this is book one in a series, but the added in selection of the author’s next book was to my taste, repellent.

Really 3 1/2 stars. I enjoyed it. It was a different premise than many books and the writing was above decent. I liked the main characters, and given that the women involved all consented to the silliness of the situation, I didn't have any problems with the concept.

I had the hardest time figuring out the time period in which it is set, however. Through the first several chapters, one could believe it was set 100 or more years ago, but anachronisms kept popping up that made it firmly contemporary. Then the male lead would refer to "his majesty's service" and confusion returned. Also, the heroine is ridiculously clueless about sex. Her virgin status has nothing to do with this complete lack of basic understanding of male mechanics. This furthered the illusion of this being set in the past. Explaining this as an alternate universe would have been helpful, but still...we're really to accept she's that sheltered?

Overall I'm glad I read it but also glad I got it at through a deal. If I can get a similar deal on the preceding book "His Lordship's Downfall," I will most likely read it as well.

Steamy, sexy, naughtiness for your reading pleasure. Not all is as it seems under the robes of the "innocent". What motivates a person's actions? What thoughts lie behind a watchful gaze? To find out about Natalia's search, pick up this most intriguing story.

Disturbing. Definitely not a romance. There was nothing between these two characters to care about. I actually felt bad for the woman because she was coerced into the sex in order to save her sister. Also he used torture devices on her!!But not because of the sex but because of the so-called Hero, There was absolutely no romance and the sex bordered on rape of the protagonist. She goes into this sex den to find her vanished sister, maybe or maybe not knowing what it is but then he pretty much forces himself on her in a sexual way and degrades her in every way possible. If there was a romance and she had willingly wanted to do all this I would have liked the book. I read one other book by the same author and it was very romantic. This one was not!! Very disappointed. I think readers need romance first before all the kinky stuff to happen.

5.0 out of 5 stars A naugthy steamy read sure to delight and entertain!
Reviewed in Canada on November 10, 2017
The story is a strange blend of cultured speech and erotic innuendo that is most delightful! Natalia is force to place her virginity up for auction in order to find her missing sister! However, things do not go quiet as planned when she catches the eye of the owner Lucius! The slow descent into lust through training changes Natalia in ways she new guess were possible! The entire story is steeped in erotic play and teasing! Well written and progressive from start to finish the reader is kept on edge! I do hope Ms. Litton will continue to expand on this new style! She has certainly shown a talent for this type of writing!

This book was fantastic! I couldn't turn the pages quick enough!!
Natalie's is determined to infiltrate Club Odalisque to look for her missing sister Naomi. Lucius is the man standing in her way. The owner of club Odalisque, he is intrigued to discover her real reason for being interested in the club. A virgin auction is Natalie's way in. Preparation for the auction night means she has to practice with Lucius, who enjoys revealing Natalie's sensual side. This is a standalone book but I would recommend that you read the companion book His Lordships Downfall.
