Of Tails & Mistletoe (Of Magic and Scales Book 4) Kindle Edition
In this Christmas novella in the Of Magic & Scales series, the usual cast of zany but lovable characters is back to love and to hold the clueless groom on his way to married bliss. With or without the mistletoe.
Aiden Mercer is about to become Naël Fouchard's husband. Their Christmas wedding is all the ex-detective can think of now that his life has settled into a comfortable routine and no one is threatening his life or that of those he loves.
But whose bright idea was it to put him in charge of finding a venue for the wedding? Or to give him a case of mertail-napping to solve?

About the author

Natalina wrote her first romance in collaboration with her best friend at the age of 13. Since then she has ventured into other genres, but romance is first and foremost in almost everything she writes.
After earning a degree in tourism and foreign languages, she worked as a tourist guide in her native Portugal for a short time before moving to the United States. She lived in three continents and a few islands, and her knack for languages and linguistics led her to a master’s degree in education. She lives in Virginia where she has taught English as a Second Language to elementary school children for more years than she cares to admit.
Natalina doesn’t believe you can have too many books or too much coffee. Art and dance make her happy and she is pretty sure she could survive on lobster and bananas alone. When she is not writing or stressing over lesson plans, she shares her life with her husband and two adult sons.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis was cute. I like how there wasn’t any angst or deep mysteries or reveals. It was a sweet way to see Aiden and Nael get to their wedding and pick their site. I love how they all were involved and created that distraction for Aiden.
Nael is my favorite because no matter what he is there for Aiden and helping even when you don’t think he is. He is the true adult in the couple. Aiden is growing more but he is still more kid than adult. I like how they had a mystery but it wasn’t one that was dark or twisty just a fun distraction. I like the way the characters interact and you can see the bonds that they have with one another. I am not thrilled with Aiden’s issues with his dad who is trying really hard whereas his mom he just embraced more. That one doesn’t sit well with me.
The tree decorating was a hoot. I loved the ceremony itself. Nael was so wonderful in how he came up with where to have the wedding and getting it all decorated. And the unicorn loving Vee is just to sweet. The story is of love and family and was a wonderful sweet read of Aiden trying to find a venue but letting his idea of perfect get in his head while getting distracted by a missing mertail. Nael being busy and having all sorts of surprises and wonderfulness for Aiden. Vee being Vee. All his friends helping him try to find a place and just supporting him no matter what. And a wedding that just is wonderful. A great short story and I hope we see more of these characters in more books.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2021Format: KindleThis is a Christmas novella. They should be read in order. Aiden and Nael are preparing for their wedding. If only Aiden could find the perfect place for them to get married. Every place seems to hold some kind of bad memory or just doesn’t hold a spark for them. Nael’s little sister Vee just wants there to be unicorns at the wedding. Christina and Taz are more than happy to go with Aiden to check out the different places with Aiden. I love these characters. They are funny and each other’s chosen family. I always look forward to reading more about these characters. Hopefully there will be another book or two in this series. I would love to get to read about Christina’s baby. Great job Natalina.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseWhat a wonderful way to wrap up a series! Aiden and Naël and their family of friends have been through so much to reach this happy ever after. I loved that this story was full of all the fun magical people who populated the previous books. While you don’t need to have read the prior books in this series I would highly recommend it as you will enjoy this story so much more. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2021Format: KindleMake sure you read the other three books first before you read this one as it will contain some major spoilers otherwise! Aiden and Nael are preparing for their happily ever after and Aiden is losing his mind trying to find a perfect wedding venue. He is also trying to solve a case of “tail-napping” that Silva seemed awfully insistent that he should take on. This is just a fun little novella that shows our favorite demigod and mer sharing some hickory spirit and getting married at Christmas. A lovely sweet and quick read with all the appropriate snark and shenanigans.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2021Format: KindleI love the characters in this series To me this is a perfect novella lengrh story. It's light-hearted and fun, and it's holiday-ish without being too much holiday themed. I love that Naël still teases Aiden and that Aiden is still overly dramatic. This book is best enjoyed as part of the series so you know who the characters are and their relation to the others, and I recommend the entire series!!
I was given an advanced copy. This review is freely and honestly given.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is a Christmas novella part of a series and you must read the other books first or you will get lost. But otherwise the story is nice and I think I can get into this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2021Format: KindleThis was the perfect conclusion to the 'Of Magic and Scales' series. Don't get me wrong, I still don't really like Aiden. He behaves like a child much of the time, still can't seem to forgive his parents, and is a bit of a numbskull with a one-track mind (sex). But I love Naël, Christina, Silva, Taz, Oisin, and the other characters. They more than make up for Aiden. Ok, maybe Aiden did grow on me...but just a little. The wedding was sweet and brought the series to a great close.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 5, 2021Format: KindleI totally enjoyed this short holiday novella. There was a little bit of mystery to give it a little spice and a lot of love that made it sweet. This was low angst and fun and Aiden and Nael are a cute couple. I also enjoyed the community that surrounds them. I have not read other stories in the series but this reading is making me want to go back and read the rest of the books.
I received an ARC from GRR for an honest review.
