One Last Dance Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 693 ratings

A ballet star returning home. The teacher who captured her heart. A second chance at once forbidden love.

Twenty-eight-year-old Zoe is heartbroken. After an injury brings her career as a principal dancer at a prestigious London ballet company to a screeching halt, she returns home to the States, where she runs into her former ballet teacher—and once forbidden love—Natasha.

The ice to Zoe's fire, Natasha captured Zoe's heart a decade earlier. Undeniable sparks danced between them, yet they could never give in to temptation. When Natasha rejected Zoe the night before she moved to London, they were both left shattered. Neither woman has been able to move on since. Now, they find the same heat smoldering between them, but the specter of how they last parted still casts a dark shadow on them.

Secrets from the past, desires of the present, and the uncertainty of the future stand in the way of Zoe and Natasha seizing their chance at true love. Or perhaps they'll realize fate brought them back together to dance the ultimate pas de deux.

One Last Dance is an second chance age-gap romance that sizzles with heat and spice.

With a shared passion for ballet and a love that distance and time could not erase, what Zoe felt for Natasha was real and it developed on the floors of the dance studio for a woman she at first despised. Zoe, was willing to put her life's dreams on hold to go after the love she wanted to pursue with Natasha. However, being the more grounded one, who had been there, done that, Natasha put her love for Zoe on hold so Zoe wouldn't live forever wondering 'what if'. This was such a beautiful story and shows that love isn't always getting what you want, when you want it. Sometimes, love is letting go for the greater good with the risk that it'll never come back. I'll definitely be reading this one again.

The thing that pulled me in was that lovely cover. Thank you to the author for featuring a black woman in this story in an atypical career and for giving us that beautiful cover! We desperately need more of that in the literary world!!

This was a cute relatively drama-free hot little story. My only complaints are that I wish it were longer. There was so much room for expansion on both MC stories since they each had such complex histories. So much more could have been written about each of them. I would have loved to see young Natasha with her parents and what her life was like when she left home at 18, the struggles she endured with her first partner. I also think it would have made OLD exponentially more powerful if we experienced some of the trials Zoe experienced dealing with racism in the world of ballet, not to mention being a female star in that world and coming out.
My only other complaint is that I wanted more physical descriptions of the characters, especially during the smexy parts. AS kind of gave a vague-ish sense of what each character looked like but it was hard to truly envision them at times. And let's be honest, as nice as that cover is, the model representing Natasha doesn't look like a nearly 40yo woman. If anything, the cover models look to be about the same age.

Those 2 issues kept OLD from being a 4.5-5 star book for me. Nevertheless, I still recommend it especially if you're looking for something less cookie cutter.

This delightful romance is quite a bit different from the BDSM themed stories we have become accustomed to from Ms. Stone.
The majority of romantic operas are generally tragic, especially for the females.
However, pleasingly, our romantic love story, that covers ten years of the main character’s lives ends happily.
There is a great deal of “passion” in our story of love, loss, and reclamation to please any sapphic audience, but dance is a passionate art.
    Enjoy.

Anna Stone is a very good storyteller. At this point, I buy whatever books have her name on them. Her writing engages the reader and holds their attention throughout the plot. The main characters are likeable and of course they get their happy ending.

Reminiscent of Pas de Deux involving another ballet dancer. Herein is where, for the most part, the similarities end. There were phobias, prejudices, and challenges one can identify with and for which are still prevalent in 2020. Fortunately, there were "wins," triumphs and a predictable HEA, you were still glad to see. There are a plethora of lesbian books across many genres and decent/good is the norm. I'm looking for Excellent, Exceptional, Extraordinary books that evoke the mind, body and soul. Too much, I know but they're out there. I run across them all the time. These jewels bring me joy. Anna Stone's book Being Hers is one of them. Reading the excerpt brought back fond memories and it is part of my library collection. As for this one, I think you will find it mildly entertaining with sex scenes that scorch. As always I appreciate the author sharing her talents with me (us).

Zoe is back in the states after an injury that may end her career in London. While there, she runs into her old ballet instructor that she's been holding a torch for over ten years.
Natasha is both excited and a little reluctant to see where things go with Zoe. She has to get over the fact that Zoe was a student and come to terms with telling Zoe everything.
This is story about how things aren't always what they appear to be. The actions of one can impact another. Both women must figure out what to do when all the cards are on the table.
I loved the format of this book. Anna told the past and the present in tandem and it worked out really well. As with any Anna Stone book you get well developed characters, a relatable story, and the most amazing sex scenes to grace your pages.

However, I found this to be a gem. I have no interest or experience regarding ballet; however, I found the plot had enough details to keep me interested and engaged in the topic. Most importantly, this take on an age gap was highly appropriate and much appreciated. Many times young love makes us do things in a moment of passion that we regret. I like how the author addresses this and some other mature issues and weaves it into a refreshing tale.

Natasha is a by the rules, passionate woman, keeping a secret. Zoe is heart on her sleeves, younger woman with a zest for life. Originally teacher\student role that may change 10 years later when Zoe returns to the US after an injury and runs into Natasha. Their chemistry is strong, and they finally in a place where they can accept it. This is not a typical Anna Stone romance, however it is still full of love, chemistry. You will not want to put it down.
