4.1 out of 5 stars 52 ratings

One grew up pinching pennies. The other with a silver spoon in his mouth. Can they find a way to meet in the middle?

Bennett has spent his life scraping to get by. When he learns his mom has cancer, he hustles to find a trial treatment she’s eligible for to get her the care she deserves thanks to a charitable foundation.

It’s at the grant awards dinner when Bennett locks eyes with Dex, a strikingly handsome older man. Their attraction is immediate. Their chemistry electric. In the following days, they can’t bear to be apart.

It doesn't take long for Bennett to discover Dex is harboring a huge secret. When he finds out that Dex is the benefactor of the charitable foundation, will he be able to look past Dex’s riches and see him for the man he truly is? Or will Bennett be too blinded by his own pride to allow himself to be seen as a charity case?

I’ve really enjoyed this series and this new story is really good. Dex is very much a lost soul, working extremely hard with not a lot of time for a personal life. He’s been burnt one too many times and it’s made him weary of trusting someone too soon. He’s attracted to Bennett from the first moment he sees him and I loved that he went to him almost immediately. The connection is strong and Bennett feels it too. Bennett’s having a hard time dealing with his mother’s situation, he’s doing the best he can and winning this grant will hopefully change his mother’s outcome. He feels the connection with Dex and seems to find it very easy to confide in him. I really liked them together and although there’s a few hiccups on the way to their happy ever after it’s a really sweet story.

Generous to a fault and willing to help out those in need, what could possibly go wrong? Oh, right, the recipient doesn't want charity. But if it's from her son's new boyfriend? Maybe things will work out after all.
What a fantastic series! The stories could be longer and I'd still love them

Bennett meets Dex at a banquet for recipients of a grant to cover medical expenses for his sick mom. Dex isn’t comfortable with telling Bennett who he is because of his money. Bennett is not comfortable with always being careful with money. The two spend time together and realize there’s an attraction and more. Eventually the truth comes out and through communication they work things out. Sweet guys. Enjoyed this one.

Dex is tired of being used and wants something real. Bennett is such a perfect partner for him that he risks losing him by not being open about his wealth. The secondary characters in this book, some of which have had their own stories already in this series are great support to bring this story alive. I really enjoyed it! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

It was so sad that Bennet's mother was diagnosed with a serious cancer and that the family did not have the money to battle the disease as aggressively as they would need to have a chance in keeping her there with him and his sister. They are a very close family and their mom is a proud woman but she needs help and her son resolves to do what he can so he applies for grants that can help pay for the treatment she needs and one comes through. He is invited to a thank you luncheon for the sponsors and recipients that is being hosted in a museum and he is feeling a bit out of place until a striking man approaches him and they spend time together that makes him feel better. He even gives Dex his phone number and sincerely hopes he will call. He does not realize that Dex is one of the folks that funded the grant. They are of very different financial circumstances but they quickly learn after the event and one date that they have a strong attraction to and connection with one another. Will finding out that Dex has money have an impact on how Bennet will feel about the very real feelings they are developing for one another. This was another good story in the series and it was nice getting cameos from couples featured in previous stories.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Kicking it with the Billionaire, was a sweet, opposite attracts novella that was fairly low angst.

Bennett and his younger sister grew up with a single mom who struggled to make ends meet. Despite not having very much money, Bennett is surrounded by family and friends who love him. When his mom gets cancer and doesn't want to accept charity, he secretly applies for a grant to cover the cost of her treatment.

Dex, the billionaire CEO of a large company that he inherited from his family has been trying to find someone to spend his life with. Unfortunately he keeps dating men who only want to use him for his money.

When Bennett and Dex meet at a charity event where Bennett's mom is a recipient, Dex doesn't tell Bennett who he is because he wants Bennett to get to know him for himself. I enjoyed the chemistry between the men and even though I knew Dex's lie would eventually come out, it was still an enjoyable read with a happy ending.
