REVIEWS:
This is an adorable 'oink-oink' story that the author has written for ages 3 - 8 and grades P - 3. The illustrations are colorful and bright and will definitely hold the attention of the little ones in your family. I absolutely loved the drawing of her in the hammock!

Unfortunately for Polka-Dot, the other pigs were all afraid of her. For you see, she had spots of different colors all over her. Try as she might, the other pigs did not like her spots. Being afraid of her also meant that no one would play with her so Polka-Dot was sad, as well.

As we know, sometimes a disaster in life pulls us together and this is exactly what happens in this cute book. Rain starts to fall and her poor silo cabin is taking the brunt of the storm. It turns out that Polka-Dot has the answer for the other pigs in distress. If I write anymore it would be a spoiler so will stop there.

Suffice it to say, that all is end that ends well and finally Polka-Dot is the one that manages to get them all together.

An excellent story for the little ones to learn one of life's many lessons. And, it shouldn't take a disaster (of sorts) to remember to work together for a common goal. Help each other each and every day when someone needs your assistance.

Most highly recommended.~~Serenity

Another for Joyce Mitchell cute and wonderful children's book.

Polka-Dot likes to stay clean, even she is a pig with colorful dots over her whole body.
But, as nice as the dots look an her, she thinks they are great, Polka-Dot had difficulty to make and have friends.

But when something dreadful is happening, (won't say it, you better get the book) she was helping the once they rejected her before.
And now she has all the friends she wanted, and found out, that all of them has pink spots on their bodies, like her, after they all fell into a mud puddle.

A great book with colorful drawings and a moral and with a valuable lesson to learn

Author Joyce Mitchell has published over thirty children’s books – a crown she appreciates as being a parent and working with children for over ten years, her goal is to inspire and educate kids, through her 'talking animal' and 'rhyming' books she hopes will entertain and teach children important 'life lessons' in a fun and easy manner. Though the illustrator for this book is not named, it is likely the work of Joyce’s frequent illustrating partner - Jay Erandika.

Polka-Dot is a unique little pig – she lives in a converted silo cabin, spends her days in her hammock, loves to be clean (!), and is covered with all colors of polka dots. Her unspotted friends are afraid of her because of her appearance and she has no one to join in play. One day it begins to rain and Polka-Dot, reclining in her hammock, notes that her silo is slipping down the hill in the mud caused by the heavy rainfall. As her home slips down the hill she encounters animals frightened by the rain and mud and she manages to rescue a cow, and some little goats, but when she sees her fellow pigs and tries to save them, her house bumps into a rock and all the animals are thrown into a huge mud puddle. And when the rain subsides Polka-Dot notices that all the animals have colored spots and she takes them all to the river to have fun learning the Polka-Dot Trot!

The story is short and sweet, rich with colorful illustrations and carries a fine message about friendship and thoughtfulness – especially to others who are not exactly like you. Kindness triumphs. Grady Harp, November 16

Joyce Mitchell's Polka Dot trot is such a cute book. You're sure to love it as much as I do. Little Polka Dot Pig loves staying clean. She adores her unusual, colorful, spots. But other animals in her neighborhood are afraid. They run from her as fast as they can. But something happens to change everything. Polka Dot has more in common with her friends than she thought. There are valuable lessons in this endearing tale. Be sure to get your copy today. You'll really enjoy it.Children will also love the bright illustrations.

Joyce Mitchell has put out Polka-Dot-Trot it is on kindle and also paper back and this is about a pig that has polka dots all colors, he is unhappy this one day when they were all done playing and they all left, this made him very sad, why don't they like him.
So he goes back home an lays in his hammock thinking about things, rain starts but he doesn't like to get wet. So instead of going down hill he thinks he will be better off going up hill. Things start to happen but if I go on and tell you more then you are going to have the fun of seeing how things go.
So please go and get this book which then you will see why things started out the way they did and how they ended, you will laugh threw this at the same time be sad. I don't want to take away what you will learn. Share your happiness about this story with your friends and also send the author a mess letting her know that she has put out another fun book for you to read and to share with your child or children, let your friend also know what a cute book this is. When you are done since it is almost Christmas go an read Christmas with Grandpa an how much the Grandson loves his Grandpa, you will learn a lot from that story also, Joyce really knows how to maker her story pull you in.

A fun picture book, with colourful illustrations. I enjoyed this story about Polka-Dot. She looks a bit different from other pigs, as she's covered in spots. The other pigs are mean to her because of this, making her sad, but when they need her help, Polka-Dot shows she is happy to help rescue them. This finds her a whole bunch of animal friends. She is pleased to see they even end up looking very like her (read on to find out why).

A tale about helping others, and seeing through our differences to make friends.
