Another good book by Eric Helm. He takes a lot of time detailing the mission that Cpt. Gerber and his SF group along with some other troops to retake a former SF camp. A lot of planning to find out that they end up going in the next night for the "payback." read it and see how it ends!

As usual I enjoy Eric Helms books. But once again you refer to the National Guard as draft dodgers. Why don't you respect the 101 national guard soldiers who gave their life in combat in Vietnam. I personally lost two close friends who were in the Vermont engineering units. They were activated and did a full tour in Nam. Where do you get off disrespecting these brave soldiers.

Another good book by the author Eric Helm. It tells the story of how easily we can mistrust someone by making assumptions. And how easily we can avoid mistrust if we were more upfront.

Imagine trying to recapture a captured Army outpost. First have a HALO drop at night into the camp. You are armed with .22 cal silenced pistols. You have the camp surrounded and at the appointed hour al hell breaks loose. PUFF! The magic dragon is involved.

While the plot was MILDLY interesting, it was not, by any means, unique. And of the 161 pages, I would hazard to guess that no more than perhaps 40 or 50 were new. It seems that the vast majority of the last few books in this series continuously repeat themselves. I suspect that there was a LOT of "cut and paste" from previous books to fill space. We read repeatedly about how hot and humid it was, how uniforms appeared (staff uniforms were starched with sharp creases while "real" soldiers' uniforms were black with sweat ), and the minute details of helicopter flight - from radio procedures and popping smoke, to take offs and landings.
At this point, these books are simply repeating themselves to produce yet another book.

You get so wrapped up in these stories, I am getting nothing accomplished. If you try real hard you can knock this out in a day. Great reads.
