U.S. Army Special Forces Camp A-337 is under attack…
Vietnam, 1967
A fact-finding mission led by U.S. Army Special Forces Captain Mack Gerber is dispatched to the tiny hamlet of Plei Soi to determine the future of Camp A-337.On arrival they find the village deserted with most of the inhabitants killed.
As night falls a blistering rocket and motor attack pins down the Special Forces team. They repel the initial assault, but heavy rains have grounded the helicopters, preventing air support.
The situation worsens when a Mike Force convoy deployed to assist is ambushed just as it arrives to help.
Outgunned and with no hope of rescue, Gerber and the men at Camp-A337 must fight for their lives if they want to see another dawn…
INCIDENT AT PLEI SOI is the tenth book in the Vietnam: Ground Zero series: action-packed, authentic historical thrillers following an American Special Forces Squad as they fight to survive during the brutal Vietnam War.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2021The saga continues. CAPT Gruber and MSGT Fetterman ordered to assess SF camp to see if it should be closed or reinforced.
Arriving at Camp just prior to a massive attack that overruns the camp leaving several still holding out until it is finally relieved by a mass helicopter assault.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2009Much of the action within this book takes place one mile or so east of the Cambodian border, shortly before TET in 1968. For a VIETNAM: GROUND ZERO book from Gold Eagle the story is pretty much typical: interesting characters, plenty of on line action, and good solid information all simulating what constituted the 'real' Nam. As Ed Gorman, said in his Cedar Rapids Gazette review: "Evocative....Nam as it most likely was...".
The story concerns Saigon MACV's interest in the U.S. Army Special Forces Camp A-337 on the Cambodian border, with the question of should this camp be kept open or closed down. Two investigators are sent out into the field to help determine this, Captain Mack Gerber and Master Sgt. Tony Fetterman, both standard characters in these books, but shortly after they arrive at Camp A-337 the camp undergoes severe attack by both the NVA and Vietcong. One fact not known to the Americans, this camp sets directly on the escape route for the NVA from the Ho Chi Minh Trail and the NVA doesn't want anything there, and will risk everything to keep this area completely free and open, even peaceful Vietnamese farmers, whom the NVA kill just as quickly as they kill U.S. Army personnel.
The NVA and Vietcong attack is so severe that it is all the camp can do is try to survive, especially as it is completely over run by the enemy with only a small remnant of Americans left alive to defend it and they are running out of ammo. The weather is so rainy and foggy that air craft can neither Medivac wounded, bring in reinforcements, nor do much in the way air support.
Will anyone survive? Will Camp A-337 be completely over run? Will MACV decide to rebuild Camp A-337 no matter the outcome? These questions, among others, will be answered when one reads this action adventure novel of the Vietnam War.
Again, good reading for those inclined to action adventure, with only the best coming from Gold Eagle books.
Semper Fi.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2022As always, Eric Helm provides a good read with his books. You begin to think of the characters as your old bud's from back in the day. Thank you Eric.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2022This had to be the most screwed up war ever. The brass and politicians reacting to every nuance of the press.. The poor warrior class stuck in the middle. Killer story. Just gets better and better.
