Poster Child: Maxima City Talent Volume 4 Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 4 ratings

Now entering Maxima City, home to heroes, villains, the news reporters caught in the middle, and everyday citizens just trying to live their lives.

Volume 4: Poster Child
Gina Vasquez is living her best life. She may not be one of Maxima City’s many billionaires, but she’s got a pretty sweet set up. By day, she’s a small business owner and unapologetic foodie, but by night, she’s Acrobot, second in command to Maxima City’s number one Malevolent talent, Hostile Takeover. Nothing (with the possible exception of a really fresh salad) makes her happier than orchestrating from the sidelines while other talents clamor for the spotlight.

But when Hostile Takeover decides The Coalition of Evil needs diversifying and notices her second in command checks several boxes, Acrobot finds herself leading a team of unique talents who just might have what it takes to make a name for themselves. That is, if they can stop bickering long enough to take their promotional photos.

Caught between wanting her team to succeed and her own anonymity, this former circus performer needs to get ready for the balancing act of a lifetime.

Poster Child is the fourth book in the Maxima City Talent series.

Comic image of author Christina McMullen

Christina McMullen

Christina McMullen is a sci-fi and fantasy author who can't seem to keep humor from creeping into everything she does. Her Talent alter-ego is Madame Roboto, a supervillain with the power to command all things technical, and hellbent on amassing an entire army of robots.

Ben Mariner

Ben Mariner

Ben Mariner is a guy who writes books that some people think are funny. He enjoys cheese, tomatoes, and bread, but only when combined to make pizza. His Talent alter-ego is Officer Detective, a brilliant crime solver who focuses on helping the world recover lost ink pens and loose change...and he always closes the case.

CB Archer

CB Archer

CB Archer likes to break conventions, and fourth walls, with his writing. Despite his best efforts to remain serious, he always fails spectacularly. His Talent alter-ego is Digital Graphite, a wandering artist who draws book cover art for tips on the boardwalk, but always loses the best spot to his silent arch-nemesis Crypto-Mimer.

Christina McMullen is a science fiction and fantasy author who just can't seem to keep humor from sneaking into everything she writes. When she's not writing (which is most of the time these days), she's either getting her butt kicked in Mario Kart or catering to the whims of a very small and very grouchy dog.

Inventive and entertaining take on corporate superheroes and villains! A great quick read with characters which immediately pop, witty observations on the genre and the world at large, an amusing and unexpected takedown at the end. Plus the answer to a question I didn't even know I had: 'if Bruce Wayne was the guy from 50 Shades of Grey would he be even more punchable?'

Pick it up and find out!
