What do you get when old enemies return?
Nothing good. Nothing good at all...

Cal Stokes’s good friend, Neil Patel, has disappeared. Following the trail to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Stokes and his men must find the culprit and rescue their colleague before it’s too late. The only problem is that the enemy lies in wait, hoping for a final showdown.

With an outside group of aggressors making a play for dominance, the former Marine must lead his team through the hazardous snow-filled mountains to eliminate their adversary.

How many bodies will be left when the snow melts?

WHY C. G. COOPER MATTERS

Fiction has the power to change lives.

Pay a visit to Cooper Country and you’ll understand why. With his unique voice and flair for creating characters you’d love to hang out with, C. G. Cooper imparts every one of his novels with messages that perfectly illuminate what Faulkner called, “the human heart in conflict with itself.” In them, characters confront hard truths about life, the necessity of war, the military industrial complex, and why and how good men and women die.

But there are messages within the messages.

There is the power of the individual to triumph over evil against overwhelming odds; the struggle of good people against their inner demons; there is brotherhood, family, the discovery of allies in unexpected places, struggles with faith; there is community; there is authenticity; Cooper’s heart is on every page, beating hard and fast through action and moments of tenderness alike.

Expect high-octane action, slow-burn thrills, and gut-wrenching drama. Expect the ultimate conflict of the human heart.

This is Cooper Country. Lives will change.

THE LOWDOWN

Drawing on his days as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps—a stint that came on the heels of a degree in foreign affairs from UVA—Cooper sifted his experience through his vivid imagination and created Corps Justice, the first novel in the beloved Corps Justice series. Thus, a band of characters was born that would go on to enthrall readers throughout 17 novels and counting. With more than 2 million book downloads and multiple appearances in the Amazon Top 100, C. G. Cooper remains one of the most successful USA TODAY and Amazon best-selling authors.

In 2020, he won the prestigious James Webb Award presented by the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation for his novel Chain of Command.

In addition to bouncing around the country in search of the perfect vacation (turns out, it is anywhere with his family), Cooper has called Nashville home ever since his final Marine duty station. When not enjoying the laid-back lifestyle of Music City, he’s doing his best to add more novels to the growing list at cg-cooper.com.

A good quick read by Cooper. Wish it was longer. Plenty of action. So good twists in story. Liked the different characters.

At the end of Council of Patriots, Cal gets a phone call: Neil Patel has disappeared while attending a small conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming... Former Marine, Cal Stokes and his men will stop at nothing to rescue their friend and colleague. The only problem? The enemy lies in wait, hoping for a final showdown in the hazardous snow-filled mountains...

Another great book! I think I am beginning to understand what real "Corp Justice" is: doing the right thing to protect America and her citizens from threats they often know nothing about. For instance, SSI would never murder one of their own — even if he were a traitor — they would simply have him secretly placed in a CIA maximum security prison cell (where he would never see the light of day). I like the fact that these men are willing to go as far as it takes to save, rescue and/or protect one of their own — and you have to remember that they could not afford to lose a "Prime Asset" like Neil — he knew too much with his intelligence and knowledge about the entire SSI operation. Fast paced, interesting and a page-turner, this was another satisfying "Corp Justice" read.

AfterThought: Daniel Briggs is a great addition to the SSI team! Who does not love a former Marine sniper?

The books written my C.G. Cooper are some of the best I have read. Can’t put them down and I enjoy this series very much. His book can easily be made into great movies.

This was a really good one - very few political overtones - just a romping adventure with courageous good guys pursuing and flushing out the nasties. The characters are becoming more fleshed out. Dr. Higgins is a great character - like Bad Santa on the side of the angels. The author captures the enviable sense of camaraderie that exists between military people on a mission. He also moves the story along nicely by letting the reader know who the traitors are instead of stringing us along for pages and pages - their comeuppance was thus all the more satisfying. The author also rightfully reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice often made by those whose purpose in life is to keep the monsters away. Proofreading/editing was much better.

I just finished "PRIME ASSET" by C. G. Cooper in one sitting. A GREAT way to spend 5 hours on a quiet holiday afternoon! This was the third book in a 3-book series, and once again, it didn't disappoint. Cooper tells a fine story that keeps the reader captivated with a continuous stream of action and suspense. As a retired Marine, I can identify with most of the characters in a personal way, but this book is written well enough for all to enjoy - even the civilian who has never held a gun or has never felt the rush and intensity of combat. All readers will connect with the well-developed characters. Keep 'me coming!! I can't wait to spend some quality time enjoying my next C.G. Cooper novel!

The story is worth 5 stars. But, the length of the book is only worth 3 stars (Only 241 pages). Come on, you ripping us of with you story length's... your competing authors are giving us readers much longer books for the same price as you. Cal it a "short Story" and lower the price!

The book was enjoyable because it had good characters, a good story with different levels of activity and it kept the reader interested to find out what happens next. It wasn't' an overwhelming read as many are.
