About the author

I am a mother of two beautiful children, Devin a 15 year old son and Isabelle a 9 year old daughter. I married the love of my life 15 years ago and even though we have had our ups and downs I wouldn't change a single day of our lives. These three bring joy and laughter into my life as do our two dogs, two cats, two lizards, and two frogs. My husband is military so we get to see places and meet people we would never have experienced before. I started writing when I was very young, poetry in elementary school, and short stories throughout middle and high school. I recently rediscovered my love for writing and thought I would finally follow my dream and get publish my story. I read a lot of contemporary romance and erotica so that is what I love to write about. What woman doesn't love a great, epic love story? I am a die hard romantic so Happily Ever After is a must. When I am not writing, wrestling with my zoo or my kids, I am getting my degree in Psychology. I am truly blessed.

Second Chances #2
Kristy Kay
5 Stars
Contemporary Romance/ YA
This is an amazing book. It gives you enough back and forth between the past and present as not to be boring. That’s where the YA comes to play in book.
You’ll be taken into the lives of Taylor and Jack, and their family and friends. Find out how they met, and how they are dealing with a family crisis.
And how the love and friendship from some great people help the healing begin.
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. I hope there is another in
this series.
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Reviewed by Lisa for Alpha Book Club
- Reviewed in the United States on May 29, 2016Promises was as quick of a read for me as Breathe was but I didn't like it quite as well. It's a good book with solid characters, solid writing. But I felt like a few of the characters made choices that didn't make sense. Emotions felt like light switches. I shouldn't compare this one to the first book simply because it's not the same book. I was definitely excited to pick this one up because I liked book 1 so much. (These are stand alone books but the characters overlap.)
I like the idea of the back and forth in Taylor and Jake's story - I like it being flashbacks that don't feel like flashbacks but I wish that it was clearer from the beginning that we'd be going back and forth. I was jolted when the story jumped to the present and then happened after the events of book 1 (again, a stand alone but the characters' lives are intertwined.) Give it a chance - it's a solid story.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2016Promises by Kristy Kay is an unconventional second chance romance. None of the traditional tropes I often find in romance novels are here and it was a refreshing change of pace. The story is primarily from the POV of Taylor and Jack, but you also get in the head of several other characters as well. It could get confusing if you haven't read Kay's previous book Breathe, but you could read this as a standalone if you want. I recommend to anyone who believes in forgiveness and second chances and the power of true love.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2016Wow Taylor and Jacks story completely rocked my world. You need a box of tissues to read this book. I was in a complete tug of war between jack and Ian. I hope there is lots more to come from this series. This was definitely a five star read.

At first I was like huh? whats this? But the author completely cleared that up soon. It goes back and forth between the past and the present so you understand whats going on and at the same time it doesnt get boring. I like the way we get a look into the lives of Taylor and Jack and their family and friends. We find out how they met and how they deal with the drama that is their family crisis. The different POV's really add something to this and makes it all the more interesting. This is a wonderful story about forgiveness, second chances and true love.
I myself would love to know what happend to that poor, handsome guy Ian.....hihihi
