Shawna Reppert, an award-winning author of fantasy and steampunk, is proud of keeping readers up all night and making them miss work deadlines. Her fiction asks questions for which there are no easy answers, while at the same time taking the reader on a fine adventure that grips them heart and soul and keeps them turning pages until the very end.

She shares her home with a black-and-orange cat named Samhain who occasionally takes over her blog.

In the past, she had occasionally been found in medieval garb on a caparisoned horse, throwing javelins into innocent hay bales that never did anything to her. More recently, she has been known to attend Victorian teas in her steampunk regalia.

She grew up in Pennsylvania, and now lives in the beautiful wine country of Oregon. Each has colored her writing in different ways.

A very enjoyable follow on to the three Ravensblood books. The world of magic follows from the first three books but the story is fresh so readers of the other volumes will not feel that this is a repeat of the previous stories. Any of the first three books would stand as a good story on its own, however I think the most enjoyment would come to those who read them in order. This adventure takes place some time after the events in the first three volumes and can easily be read without any knowledge from the earlier books. Shawna has the ability to balance details allowing the reader to visualize a scene and keep a pace making you want to turn the page – and sometimes stay up too late reading that next chapter or two. The action in this story starts quickly so you won’t have to turn many pages to be wrapped up in the adventure. Readers from the pacific northwest will especially enjoy the references to many familiar places.

Solid, enjoyable. Long arc does well, short arc only has a few "huh?" moments. OK, I have a few quibbles, wouldn't be OCD-me without a few! The hardest for me was the bad guy being present and set up ready to act in a place his victim might or might not be once a week (not on a regular schedule). There might be an explanation for that, but it just seemed really unlikely without one. The reason this drew comment from me is that everything else is beautifully plotted and works well. Editor needs to be more alert: pig becomes sheep, English is called English and in one place Anglish, occasionally a word is missing or missing a letter -- not enough to damage the storytelling, but this is what an editor is supposed to catch. Here endeth the quibbles: go forth and readeth thou the book!

A great conclusion for the Ravensblood Quadrilogy! This story begins a couple years after the events of Raven's Heart, bringing back several familiar characters... and the equally familiar themes of high peril, tragedy, heart-wrenching loss and nerve-wracking suspense. And, of course, the theme that no one can ever truly escape their past; the best they can do is come to terms with it, learn what they can from it and vow to do better in the future.

This series has wedged itself into my thoughts. The characters are diverse and well thought out. Plot twist keep you guessing. The only drawback that I see at this point is, I've ran out of Raven books. Looking forward to many more books in this series or spin offs.

These books are just getting better! Thrilling to the last page, good character development, and a brilliant story. The naming ceremony was amazing, touching, and brought a tear to my eye. Will definitely do something like that for my future children.

I thoroughly enjoyed this 4th installment of the series. The awesome descriptions again take the reader right into the heart of Oregon, even more than the previous 3 books. Awesome read
