- Reviewed in the United States on November 5, 2016I started reading Rebecca's Children because I was curious about this period of history. I continued reading it because of good characterizations and interesting, flowing storytelling. I'm looking forward to reading more novels from Kate Dunn -- I'm off to buy The Line Between Us now.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2018I thought the first part of the book was good but then it became a little uninteresting and boring. I did like Mary’s story. I thought the book was just ok
- Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2018I received this from netgalley.com in exchange for a review.
Brother and sister, Mary and William, are forced to sell their land and have barely enough to survive. William becomes involved with the Rebecca-ites, a shadowy group of nationalists pitted against the English landowners whose tolls have bankrupted so many Welshman.
It was interesting to learn about this faction in history. But I was never invested in the characters and felt less than interested in the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
Having recently read and enjoyed Kate Dunn's latest novel The line between Us, I wanted to read more of her work. I was not disappointed. This historical novel is beautifully written and the story, which I now know is based on true events, utterly fascinated me. I highly recommend.

2.0 out of 5 stars A dreary read.
Least enjoyable book about Rebecca Riots that I have read. The passion of the time doesn't come across. Some good prose but I wouldn't recommend it

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring
This book wasn't my cup of tea at all. I really tried to get into it but I found it to be one of the most boring books I've ever read. I was thankful that I only paid 99p for it!
