Ophelia & Emmett have a super intense story. They come together like fire & gasoline, leaving devastation in their wake. This story is significantly darker than some of a Hart’s other work, but I was so glad to see it. The escalation, the torment, it was all there. Another cliffy for us all, but hopefully we won’t be hanging too long. While some things did get wrapped up in this book, I’m anxious to see where exactly their story is heading.

But he had his reason. Ophelia was strong in all she been through and I like the story plot of this book and will read to see what happens. I gave this book 4 stars because of the story and how the romance the is building between the two!! I put this in all My reviews by stating yes this book may not be for everyone but give this a book a chance and form your own opinion!!

    I swear every time Rebel Hart comes out with a book it's my new favorite. But this one really is. Her writing with every book is more enthralling and capturing. Watching her grow as a writer with every book is something special. This book is a little more darker and grittier than the Diamond In The Rough series. I honestly felt like it had just the right amount of angst and drama to keep me from wanting to put the book down and adult.
    Ophelia ( absolutely love this name ) is the main heroine who is a track star and ends up getting a scholarship to a new school for her senior year. As your reading her character and watching her go thru these intense situations I didn't feel that she came off as weak or mousey. I felt her character grow and become more stronger throughout the book.
    Oh Emmett. That beautiful broken mean bully monster. He is the main hero and I felt although he was doing some ridiculously mean cold hearted things that there was a purpose behind them which he can be redeemed for. Even though in this book he was a schmuck I just know there is more to him than that is shown. That's part of the mystery that wants, no demands you keep with this series and breathe with these characters. Live them.
    I will be impatiently waiting for the next book and I highly recommend this series to everyone.

    This was supposed to be Rebel's Hart debut novel, but do to circumstances beyond her control this book had to be put on hold as she came out with Play With Me.

    Let me tell you that this was soooo worth the wait for her to get it just right, and make it everything she wants it to be. Rebel's writing in this book brings the reader right into the story from the beginning. You want Ophelia to end up on top, and come out the winner. Her road is long and rough. She is constantly questioning herself when dealing with her feelings for Emmett. She knows he is the bad guy, but why does he feel so good? The chemistry that is woven between Ophelia and Emmett is electric and I could totally understand when she would cave to her baser desires. While I wanted to smack her upside the head sometimes I could understand why Ophelia made her choice. Rebel definitely has the heart of a teenager as she writes her books. She brings the angst, heartache, confusion, and feelings to every one of her books.

    This book moves fast, and I was definitely left wanting more. I can't wait to see what book two brings as Emmett and Ophelia deal with the aftermath of the decisions made by their family's.

    This story takes the whole bully theme to a new level. Ophelia and Emmett have seriously good sparks even though they are enemies through and through.

    What confused me a bit is the story taking on a whole new level towards the end. I didn't see any of that coming but even after, I was like, wtf just happened???

    I recommend this book but just word of caution: it's it nothing like what you expect.

    My consolation is that this was kindle unlimited. It is possible I am weary of this theme, but this story just angered me. Ophelia is fickle and wimpy. I don't understand how this or any of the plethora of bully books can be called romance. It is frightening how popular these stories have become. I am not sure what message these YA authors are hoping to impart, but this story had zero redemptive qualities. I think that the author has good skill as a writer, maybe cut out the page along inner narrative by Ophelia while getting brutalized by these hyenas. I understand I chose to read this, but I can say it will be the last of any bully themed book. I just hope any young woman, or man for that matter, finds any of this arousing or acceptable period.

    In some ways, this book has much in common with other books of the genre, in fact I was questioning if I had read it previously. But there some differences and overall it does have enough differences to make it unique.
    There are some things that don't sense though that interfere in the believability of the story. Ophelia is physically hurt multiple times in this book. There were physical marks on her body that other people noticed. Yet her parents didn't notice anything, even when she was in front of them not long after other people noted her bruises. Considering the relationship she supposedly has with them, and they certainly weren't portrayed as dumb, but not once did they express concern when their daughter wasn't eating or sleeping or covered in bruises.
    Not particularly sure whether or not Emmett is redeemable. I'm sure the next book will attempt to convince us of that. Seriously, bully romance are a guilty pleasure but I also hate them.
    I can't give it 5 stars, loses star for lack of believability, but not going to give it a lower rating because it's still a lot better than a bunch of other offerings out there.
