About the author

Alistair Birch is a thriller writer and occasional poet.
In June 2024 came the release of a co-authored epic historical thriller, The Girl from Berchtesgaden. He followed this up with his spectacular psychological thriller, The Evil Within, set in eighties Oxfordshire. And then in spring 2025 came a two-action thriller set, Shadow Pursuit and Shadow Play.
All books are on Kindle Unlimited.
Outside of storytelling, his poems range from rather silly to tackling deeper mental health challenges.
He occasionally runs around his home village and has been known to complete the odd half or full marathon but this is all for fun and friendship rather than being super speedy. He also loves to cook.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful collection of poems
I loved this collection of poems from Alistair Birch. There's something for everyone, from funny, lighthearted poems that will make you chuckle, to emotional ones that you can tell are written from the heart, to observations on life and people that will make you think.
Birch's poetry is easy to read, and the book is a pleasure to dip into during a busy day to take a break from the chaos around, or while sitting down on the sofa with a cup of coffee. A wonderful collection of poems that I highly recommend to everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good affordable read with a good mixture of poems
Loved the variety of poems. Firm favourite is “I have a little dragon”. Also appealed to my 8 year old son who hasn’t read much poetry in the past but is now a fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fabulous Read.
A fabulous book of both serious and nonsensical poems that will appeal to all. My personal favourites are American friends and The Friendship Bank Account. I highly recommend taking time out with a glass of wine or a cup of tea and read this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars In Covid-19 times, escape with eighty rhymes!
A collection of rhymes, some witty, to make you giggle and get your shoulders moving,
while others include, animals, nature, reflections on life and personality types
which make you think and ponder!
