    While I've been a fan of author Delta James, REID has me looking for books by author Karen Smith! Together, this writing team had me so focused on their pages turning action adventure I almost skipped over the steamy BDSM scenes! While those scenes make REID a novel for the mature 18 and over crowd, be forewarned, though; once started, this epic actions packed tale doesn't let up until the last word is read. It easily ears more stars but five is the top honor reviewers are allowed. Purchase of this novel is STRONGLY SUGGESTED! Happy pages. 😉

    This book was so good! All the books in this series were great! I felt this was more intense than the other ones, but it could be that I have just read this one and can't remember how intense the others were. Read the book in one sitting...just couldn't put it down! This whole book was GREAT...from the romance, to the spankings, the drama and seeing all the old guys and new ones and a new series...I can't wait to read! 5 Big Stars

    Finding our Finn’s brother is undercover in Fariq’s organization was a bit of a shock. In a previous book - Croft, Reid is rescued by the Croft and the Wild Mustang Agency. I’m not sure how the timeline between the two books line up, but this book was filled with suspense seeing Reid’s undercover operation get jolted by his sudden relationship to Fariq’s sister Aliya.

    I wasn’t really wild with how Reid and Aliya’s relationship begins, but as the story progressed both characters fight to protect the other and their physical relationship is intense.

    Aliya may be very young and she may have been sheltered growing up in parochial boarding schools, but she’s feisty and badass when she needs to be. I was happy with how the storyline concluded and had to laugh at how the HEA came about.

    I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

    The only thing more intense than the storyline was the chemistry between Reid and Aliya! I had to force myself to breathe at some points, and the writing was so engrossing that I felt as if I was a character in the book. Make sure you have time to read or plan to lose sleep as you won’t be able to put it down once you start. Five stars isn’t enough.

    I just finished "Reid" last night, stayed up past my bedtime to finish. Have to say, of the Wild Mustang Security series, this one was my fave. I have loved all the books in this series but Reid was the best of them all. Exciting, sexy, with a hot alpha male and a heroine who could stand up to him. Together they make the sparks fly!!!

    Once again, Ms. Delta James has created a page-turning mystery-suspense tale with a dangerous and dominant man, Christian Reid, and the meek sister of his boss, Aliya Abdul. The story will read well as a stand-alone but will have characters from the previous books in this series. Another twist will be how Christian and Aliya come together and the danger it entails. As much as I have enjoyed each of these stories, this one is, by far, my favorite. It had me on the edge of my seat with so much nervous energy as the tale unfolds. It is full of angst, betrayal, danger, suspense, mystery, espionage, sacrifices, life, and death.

    The story will have Reid working for Fariq, but he is working undercover for NATO and gathering as much evidence to help them with their case. Aliya begs her brother to go to the market and won’t relent, and finally, Fariq will give in but insist that Reid escort her. During their time on land, she will keep dodging him in the market. When he finally catches up with her, he will punish her, but someone is out to get them, and their life is in danger.

    “Oh, Princess,” he seethed. “You want to play with the devil? You have his attention now.”

    Reid knows that his time on this mission is coming to an end; what he never expected was to develop feelings for Aliya, and now, he can’t get her off his mind, which makes it dangerous for both him and her. Fariq is unstable, and there is no loyalty to anyone, including his second in command and sister.

    “No, what would be best would be to turn around and walk the other way. She was the most dangerous thing he’d ever encountered.”

    This tale's plot is different in that Reid learns that Aliya wants to escape from Fariq and NATO tried to recruit her, which was dangerous because she doesn’t have what it takes to be a spy. Reid needs to continue his work, protect Aliya, and keep them both safe. The story is riddled with so many dangers, mishaps and keeps the pages turning as the mystery unfolds. I can’t remember reading a story that had my heart racing, legs bouncing, and tension so high.

    I loved the chemistry of Reid and Aliya—his dominance, her feistiness, all worked well. What seemed like a spoiled brat with Fariq doesn’t play that way between Reid and Aliya. While he does call her Princess, it starts as a slur and changes as they get involved, to affection. I do not doubt that Reid would give his life if that were what it took, to keep her safe, especially to remove her from Fariq.

    “I’m going to come for you. I’ll always come for you. I promise.”

    “He kept calling her princess, but this wasn’t a fairytale, and no matter how positive she tried to be, she couldn’t imagine this coming to a happy storybook ending.”

    The story has the good, the bad, and the ugly. It shows that people can become jaded when around so much evil—but that the good shines through when they find something or someone worth fighting for. It will have several people from Wild Mustang Security playing cameo roles. It will also have a segue into what appears to be the next book—not a cliffhanger.
