    I give Resisting Fate by Kylie Gilmore five stars. This is book seven of the Happy Ending Book Club series and can be read as a stand alone. I would suggesting reading the whole series in order because the author wrote it in sequence order and every book in the series was great! This book was very well written and a quick read!     Missy Higgins has had a lot of bad things happen in her life and even though she is young she has sworn off me. Missy believes no man is trustworthy so she tends to stay away from relationships. The problem is that fate seems to be playing tricks on her and lately the sexy Ben Wright keeps turning up at the same places she is at. She feels that a harmless flirtation is fine but when her ex shows up at the Christmas craft bazaar she makes Ben act like they are together and one Hot kiss later and she is breathless and weak in the knees and is left wanting more.

    Ben Wright is a sexy male with a hear of gold that runs his own business with one of his best friends. When Ben is sent on an errand and ends up seeing Missy get fired from her holiday job, a job that she needs badly he offers her a temp job at his company. When this happens Missy starts wondering if Fate is trying to tell her something. She wants to cross the professional boundaries and give into the lust she is feeling but she is still wondering if she should let Ben in her heart.

    Will fate bring them together or will they resist it and never let themselves love each other? You have to read the book to find out!

    This series gets better and better. This book is Ben and Missy’s story. Ben is the honorary brother of the Campbells and Missy is the sister to one of the wives of the Marinos. We met Missy in Clover Park Bride. She was trying to decide if she should leave her job in Seattle and make Clover Park her new home. It all made sense. She would be close to her half-sister, Lily. Her only family. But she was so reluctant to make the move. I was so happy to read this story and see how she fairs after making the big move. She is quick witted and independent. A little too independent. I wanted to see her start leaning on those around her. That someone being Ben. Fate kept throwing them together. Ben never gave up on Missy. They both were fighting demons. Trying not to repeat past mistakes. It was nice to see what happened when they finally shared their pasts and worked toward their Happy ending. See what I did there. (smirk)

Even though it might not necessarily be fate but something else that keeps throwing them together you can’t stop but hope that they stop fighting it and appreciate what they have with each other. With Bens hero like personality and Missy’s very independent one you know that they can be good for each other. You will laugh and cry when you get to know missy more and you definitely love her giving personality. And what’s there not to love about Ben. He tries to save and protect those closest to him. And when he turns his charms on missy the chemistry between them is off the charts and there is just not way she can resist him. Another amazing book from Kylie Gilmore in this series and I cannot wait for the next.

    So I’m giving this four stars, but really maybe it’s 3.5 stars. This story just didn’t click for me, it felt like it was missing something. The main characters chemistry didn’t seem to jump off the pages, and the connection between them just never seemed to fully come to fruition. I’ve enjoyed this series, and her other books, but I found this one to be lacking some elements that have been in her previous books.
