Retain Me: A BWWM Office Romance Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 249 ratings

Having been promoted to partner at Walsh, Ingram & Ingram law firm, Avarie Ingram was quite confident in her abilities in not only the courtroom but the boardroom as well. Her new high profile assignment was to be an advisor for the legal team of the billion-dollar corporation, King Steel Industries. This duty would include working closely with the devilishly handsome C.E.O, Shane King. Making her way up the corporate ladder, left no room for love and it was the last thing she had considered while climbing the ladder of success.

A private dinner between the two would lead to a night of passion that Avarie desired to keep in the strictest of confidence. After all, there was this little thing called attorney-client privileges.

The sparks between the two are enough to set the town on fire. Avarie and Shane embarked on a steamy love affair, unable to keep their hands off each other. As much as Avarie tries to remain professional in the office, Shane blows past her defenses at every turn. She's built up the facade of being a hard, corporate attorney and Avarie knows what is between them is wrong-- but there's no way she can leave Shane alone.

Retain Me is a steamy, contemporary BWWM romance. For fans that love sexy, filthy office romance, you will love the latest release from Peyton Banks. It’s reserved for mature readers only.

Avarie was to become the lawyer in charge of Shane’s companies account. She was there to do what was best for the company. It didn’t bold well for her that she was a woman and black. She had to put a few people in their place for being condescending to her. It was the good old boys club for some. And there were others ready to move on with business.

Peyton put together a good logical clear and connecting short. This was most certainly a lunchtime quickie well worth the time.

A great read, and I enjoyed it tremendously, not too short, not too long, no dragging, straight to the point. Just like Shane, the man knows what he wants and he wants Avarie , the go-getter, powerful lawyer. Together, they make sense, they belong together, they fit!
I was hoping for a little Shane or little Averie, maybe we will have some babies in Trevor's story. 😁
    Great 👍

This was a case of a man knowing what he wanted! He was mature and went for it.The guy was romantic and honest about his feelings for her. It was nice to have just a strain forward romance! Great job Peyton Banks👍🏿

Shane and his brother were the owners of a large industrial firm. Their attorney was retiring and his replacement Avarie was just what he wanted. They may have started things a little backwards, but they ended it right on time.

When I read the intro to this book, I was looking for a powerful black woman and a powerful white man falling in love as equals. This book was so not about that. The black woman was written as submissive with her powerful white man always to the rescue. I did not enjoy reading this book as much as I thought I would. It seems to be the theme for rhis author in a couple of her books. Maybe she needs to flesh out her characters and make her books a little longer. Everything seems rushed and cliched.
