- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2017Another great book from JA Whiting. Claire Rollins is rebuilding her life with the help of friends. Along the way, she finds she has a talent that helps her solve mysteries. Not giving anything away, but her "talent" is a mystery in itself.
With Nicole, Tony, Augustus and handsome detective Ian, Claire is on the case of two suspicious deaths, a cheating husband, sisters who may have taken matters into their own hands and her blossoming feelings for Ian.
Claire is relatable and her life has had challengers - but she never gives up! Smart, beautiful, kind, hesitant to love, and Mom to two sweet Corgis, makes Claire an interesting crime solver as does her "talent". Hope we find more about it in the next book!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2017Claire Rollins and Nicole Summers have invited Vanessa and Maddy Dodd, to a concert where Robby has a solo. Nicole and Vanessa grew up in the Greendale area of Boston. After the concert Claire reaches to shake Vanessa and Maddy hand and get a strange feeling from both. It’s more so with Maddy and Claire wonders what could be troubling the young 19 year old. As Claire and Nicole walk away to congratulate Robby, Claire asks Nicole if Maddy has suffered any upset in her life recently. Nicole said that she wasn’t aware of anything, Maddy was a student of electrical engineering and Vanessa was a CPA in New York City.
As Claire and Nicole are walking back to Claire’s brownstone on Beacon Hill Nicole’s phone rings and a frantic Vanessa tells them her mother, Grace, has fallen from the third floor window of their home. Claire and Nicole rush to be with Maddy as they wait for Vanessa to get back from New York City. Grace and her husband Ronald have been fighting a lot recently. Ronald a physician has been known to have a wondering eye and the most recent was a State Representative Victoria Lowe. Did Ronald push his wife, did Grace commit suicide, and Nicole, Claire and Detective Ian Fuller begin to search for details to solve the murder.
Once again Claire and Nicole share details with Tony Martinelli and Judge Augustus Gunther. Also more details of Claire’s marriage to Teddy Rollins are revealed. Is there a hint of a romance between Claire and Detective Ian Fuller?

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping.
Another winner by J A Whiting. I would like Claire Rollins as a friend. With her gritty determination life may not always be safe but it is never boring plus she works in a chocolate shop 😀 Could not put this book down. A roller coaster ride until the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another delightful fortune of a read!
Having read the first one in the series, which was very easy going, I knew I was on to a winner. As it is this second one is just as good! Our heroine, Claire gets caught up in a double homicide that involves infidelity. With the help of her friend Nicole and trying to get use to her power of intuition, has them chasing leads all around Boston, MA. A most easy murder read! Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sisters, murders and a budding romance
Wonderful second book! What is the reason for the muder? The characters are growing and developing well in this. Great book with murders, hidden problems, twists and turns but also with a budding romance between the two main characters. Great "paranormal" cozy that you will really enjoy.
