USA Today Bestselling author Kat Mizera is a South Florida native. Born in Miami Beach with a healthy dose of wanderlust, she's called Los Angeles, Long Island, upstate New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Atlanta home. She's never been able to pick which locale is her favorite, but if pressed, she'd probably choose the west coast.

Kat's a typical PTA mom with a wonderful and supportive husband (Kevin) and two amazing boys (Nick and Max). When she's not writing, she's either scrapbooking or indulging in her second love (after writing) - traveling. Greece is one of her favorite places in the world. She loves that Athens is a big city with a small-town feel. The food, beaches and culture keep her going back as often as possible. She hopes to retire there one day so she can spend her days writing books on the beach.

As you can guess from her series, the Las Vegas Sidewinders, Kat loves hockey. She is also a freelance hockey writer, covering her favorite team, the Florida Panthers, and any other teams that have an interesting story.     Not sure if this is a spin-off from another series cos it read like I was supposed to know who was who and I was missing some pieces. But that said, the plot and characters was still interesting, intriguing and steamy enough to hold my attention from start to end. Only gripe was the very many characters mentioned and their very convulated connection to each other, which was confusing to keep track. I gave up trying to figure that out and just enjoyed the connection and steam between Sandor and Lennox and the interesting kingdom of Limaj.

We get to revisit many of the characters that we already know from The Royal Trilogy and this story continues with some of the danger and drama that the Royal family is still facing.     Sandor and Lennox’s working relationship definitely did not get off to a stellar start but once Sandor realized that Lennox was more than capable to handle the job at hand he started to see her in a different light. These two are explosive together! They have great banter, they challenge each other and they have intense chemistry and passion.

    This might be the first book in this series. But I strongly recommend reading The Royal Trilogy before reading this book. It gives you more of a background for it. After living in secret for years Sander is back in the public eye in the royal family. After numerous attacks and attempts to kill the king he wants to get more security on hand. Nothing can prepare him for Lennox. She is very skilled. Able to take him down. But will he walk away with his heart? Loved the book!

    No grammatical errors but there is a doozy of an editorial bomb.
    See, in the last book in the trilogy of Erik, Omar was killed when Cassie was shot, but suddenly he's back as the bad guy element. Now I'm no expert with memory but even I can recall that fact so the author is either taking the p*** or it's not the same author.
    Sloppy. Irritating. Pointless.I
    Taking that out of the review, it's a good romance even if the plotline with Omar was insulting. It's an escape from reality for a little while.
    There is a fair bit of swearing and some sex scenes.
    I enjoyed the book far more than I did the trilogy and will probably continue with the royal protectors series, somehow the characterisation was much better in this than in the trilogy too.
