    Man what a ride! There are triggers though so readers, please be aware.

    Emotional from Chapter 1, how does an outgoing girl turn into a recluse and no one tears up the place? I wanted to jump into the pages for people. However, we know that sometimes those we consider big in society can do stupid things to people considered lower in society. The lower person has to somehow keep it to themself and suffer through life.

    This story is written in such a way that a person who has never experienced it can understand a bit better. And it presents some hope, persons who can help carry the pain. The supporting characters add so much to this story!

    Can I rate this more than 5 stars? I do not think I can read anything else at least for a day. This story stays with you!!

    Warning, this book involves abuse of the worst kind and if that’s hard for you then stop and move on.

    Rumors are never good and times it can be more damaging than ever.

    Reading about Frankie, it made my heart hurt and will stay with me for a very long time. Her story is fiction but the events are true for others for that is the saddest part. As a child we are taught to trust adults but what happens when they trust if broken and threats are made. What happens to that child and whey they grow up?

    One man saw the pain hidden in her eyes and he stood up to the rumors and find a way to show Frankie that love is out there for everyone. With his trust, she finds a way to move on and heal.

    I know nothing about a small town but I know how rumors can make life unbearable and for those that turn the other way, well those people will need to live with that for the rest of their lives.

    I at times was so close to crying for what Frankie went through and later about Cray Cray and Truckee his brothers history. No one deserves what these 3 people went through but I am so happy that they all found each other and were able to heal and find love. Cray and Frankie and Opal and Truckee. The bonus chapter was perfect.

    I enjoy everything about this book except (spoiler) the fact she “needed” to leave. No she didn’t, she could have continued therapy while staying with her new family. I’m not saying leaving is wrong, but I felt like the book portray that it was the only option for full recovery. Everyone is different do what’s right for you.

I laughed in this as well Dalton brother was a character , what come out of his mouth is funny but helpful. Loved this book because it has a wonderful happy ending and that's the only kind of books I want to read!💗

    Another fantastic read. Cant get enough of these short stories. They are well written and deeply described. Emotions are high in this book and it'll break your heart to read such trauma, yet you will end up smiling and forever greatful reading this Phoenix who has risen has her HEA with her hero.

    This book was an amazing read. Yes it was heavy going in parts, but it needed to be for us to fully comprehend the horrors frankie had suffered.
    The portrayal of everything frankie had been through, of her fears, anxieties and struggles were wonderfully written and so relatable to me as someone who has suffered trauma.
    Dalton was also a beautifully written character who I almost instantly fell in love with.
    Amazing book which I will definitely be reading again!

    I knew this would be a hard book to read. The hardships Frankie lived through were horrific. But HJ Bellus did a fantastic job in writing this story. I struggled, but found that the true meaning behind what the story was about made the struggle worthwhile. A brilliant book that will give me a bit of a book hangover for sure.
