    I understand why this story is titled A Season of the Witch. It is set in the time and place of the Salem Witch Trials with similar events taking place in the story, but for those of us who are familiar with the characters of Ezrina and Heathcliff of the Celestra series by Addison Moore it shares with us the early story of two people whose love spans the ages.

    I started Season of the Witch once before, but didn't finish it because I wasn't invested in their lives yet. This book can be read as a standalone or at any time throughout the Celestra and Celestra Forever After series. I chose to wait until after I had read through the series and was waiting for Roar of the Lion to be published. It turns out it was a great place to read Ezrina and Heathcliff's backstory of how their love bloomed and what caused them to be in their places in the Celestra series.

    I loved reading this story showing the depth of Ezrina and Heathcliff's love and how the base for their love was developed. I'm sure as I continue reading the Celestra series I'll remember with great fondness this couple's fierce beginnings of eternal love.

    Ezrina has always been such a miserable mystery. We're given little bits of backstory, but never enough to fully understand her. Our prayers have finally been answered! I never like Ezrina, and this book doesn't make her a long lost cuddy friend, but I now understand and respect her. This is the story of Heathcliff and Ezrina. This is their lives before they were Ezrina & Nevermore and how they got to be in that horrible situation. I find that I now like Ezrina and I also feel like, if faced with her choices I may have made the same ones. This is a fantastic companion novel. I don't yet know whether it is necessary to the story line (I'll find out when the next book comes out), but I would highly recomend reading it. Loved it!

    The backstory of Ezrina and Heathcliff: the battle of wits and wills between Ezrina and Clara dives deeper and deeper into depravity. Clara's true face is ever present, that of pure evil. She wants to be what she is not and have what she cannot. Ezrina, Heathcliff, and Celestra suffer the consequences.

    This Paranormal Angel Romance is excruciating. It's quite possibly the rosetta stone of the Countenance and Celestra series: the roots that scatter the boulder. Quintessential, perhaps, to understanding the entire collection.

    I have and will always love the Celestra Series. The characters speak to you, and I am always affected with what is happening to them. Ezrina is no different. I have always wondered what her story was. Now, I know. What she and Heathcliff have is the right love at the wrong time. Though it is prophesized (is that a word?) that they will be together in the future, it is heartbreaking that they cannot have the HEA until after a number of centuries.

    Ms. Moore has a way of bringing you in the story with her writing. All of the books I have read of her give me the same reaction. I am always affected! She definitely has a way with words.

    If you have read the Celestra Series, this is a must read! If not, you can start with this if you prefer since it makes everything clear how everything started.

    Addison Moore's 'Celestra' series was probably my biggest book binge of all time. I stayed up and read the first six books in a 23 hour period, because I simply could not put them down... So, two days ago, I'm minding my business, scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed, when I see that Addison Moore has a new book out entitled 'Season of the Witch'. I was intrigued, as anything witchy surely counts as one of my "October reads", but I didn't realize at first that this had anything to do with 'Celestra' until I went to purchase it on Amazon... <i>Ohhhhh happy day!!!</i>

    'Season of the Witch' is a 'Celestra' companion novel. While I think it would still be an enjoyable book as a standalone, I highly recommend (okay, I demand) that you read the rest of the series before reading this one. While the events of 'Season of the Witch' come before the series chronologically, this book will mean so much more if you've already been introduced to Ezrina and Heathcliff.

    I've always found Ezrina and Heathcliff's story to be tragic. While Ezrina is not exactly always portrayed as a good character in the 'Celestra' series, she has certainly always been an intriguing one. 'Season of the Witch' actually takes place during the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. In this tale, instead of innocent humans being tried, convicted, and executed due to unfounded accusations of witchcraft, it is the Celestra faction. Even 300+ years ago, the Countenance faction was meeting in secret, aiming to take down the most powerful of the Nephilim. I loved the little trip down memory lane I experienced while reading this... The Tenebrous Woods... My favorite hunky sector, Marshall (I love him more than ever due to the kindness he shows in this book)... Celestra, Counts, Levatio, Deorsum, Noster... creepy Fems...

    So much love for this series!
