WINNER! Utopia Con LGBTQ+ Book of the Year

"A romance novel meant for the masses. For all humans, for all readers, for all love."--Nicky F. Grant, award-winning author of Behind the Masks

EVERYONE needs to read this book! Riveting, electric, and poignant. Emma does not waste her words. Every sentence, every line of this story was magic.--Kate Stewart USA Today Bestselling Author

How long would you wait for love? Max Kaufman was kicked out of his home as a teen and his life has been an uphill battle ever since. From addiction and living on the streets, to recovery and putting himself through nursing school, he's spent the last ten years rebuilding his shattered sense of self. Now he's taken a job as a private caretaker to Edward Marsh III, the president and CEO of one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Max soon learns Marsh's multi-billion-dollar empire is a gold and diamond-encrusted web of secrets and lies. The longer Max works and lives with the Marsh family, the tighter the secrets tangle around him. And his heart—that he's worked so hard to protect—falls straight into the hands of the distant, cold, and beautiful son of a dynasty...

Silas Marsh is set to inherit the family fortune, but his father is determined his heir be the "perfect" son. Before Silas can take over the company and end its shady business practices, he must prove himself worthy...and deny his true nature. Silas must choose: stand up to his father by being true to himself and his undeniable feelings for Max. Or pretend to be someone he is not in order to inherit everything. Even if it means sacrificing a chance at happiness and real love.

A MUST READ masterpiece of romance!
Max Kaufman has been through hell and back. From addiction to homelessness, Max bravely pulls himself together again and again. Enrolling in nursing school, Max finally manages to turn his life around for the better. But taking a job as a caregiver for one of the wealthiest men alive Max will meet his most difficult challenge yet. Silas Marsh plans on taking over his fathers empire but Silas is hiding a life changing secret that could destroy everything he has worked for. Will Silas keep his secret for a life of wealth and prestige or will he brave the truth and risk it all for a life of hope and love? Where to begin? I love Emma Scott, her "love conquers all" storylines have been a great source of enjoyment for me for years and I knew Someday, Someday would be no different than every other Scott novel before it, which is nothing short of amazing but I was terribly mistaken. Someday, Someday was everything Emma Scott and SO MUCH MORE. Someday, Someday, my first (and Emma's) LGBTQ romance was absolutely mindblowingly delicious! I fell madly in love with both of its lead characters, Max and Silas, and every second of the 5 straight hours I had with them were full of tears, joy, laughs and emotions that I cannot begin to explain. Someday, Someday will break your heart over and over but in the end it will soar and be put back together, stronger than you ever imagined it could be. Someday, Someday is one of those rare novels that sticks with you for months on end, impossible to forget, forever haunting you with its beauty. A MUST READ masterpiece of romance!

Someday, Someday is about two male characters who want to be loved and free to be who they are without guilt or pain. Both guys want their parents to be proud of them not judged for the choices they make.
This book doesn’t address religion as a factor for why these parents don’t accept the lifestyle of either guy. For Max his parents were caught off guard when they discovered Max was interested in guys. For Silas his world was turned upside down when his father became this hardened creature believing real men were brutes.
There’s more at stake fir Silas then dealing with his sexual preferences. The family business that his father wants Silas to run is in line. Mr. Marsh has demands and stipulations that Silas must meet before he will promote him to CEO.
Mr. Marsh Silas’s father has MS and requires around the clock care. Max being a nurse finds himself caring for a man who is a homophobic-misogynist. Max puts aside his fears regarding Mr. Marsh.
Max grew up in a Jewish household with two older siblings. He was ten years younger than his sister and was too young to know them before they moved away. When he was sixteen he was kicked out of his house for being gay where he lived on the streets performing tricks to earn a living while numbing his body with drugs to keep the thoughts at bay. He paved his way to college earning a nursing degree.

Emma writes a compelling story about the lives of Max and Silas. When Emma writes about their backstories and the pain, suffering, and confusion they endured its enthralling. This is an easy to read story. It’s informative and well written. Emma carefully crafted all the lives of each of these characters and how each one carved the pathway for opportunity to grow, heal, and learn.

This explains the title perfectly, “Someday isn’t a day of the week. It doesn’t come around automatically. You gotta go out there and get it.”
Emma’s use of words was off the charts extraordinary. I haven’t seen so many unfamiliar words in quite some time. Normally my head would be screaming at me regarding the complexity, but it suited Eddie’s character perfectly. The terms, the words, the vocabulary, and the time piece era of his conversations was priceless.

Emma did a wonderful job illustrating the guilt, confusion, and sadness of living life differently. I loved how Emma incorporated music into the healing process. Emma has a beautiful writing voice. It’s full of compassion, support, and understanding. The emotions she expresses in her characters actions is felt strongly. I could reach inside and feel every emotion. I was transported into Silas’s and Max’s world where two people fall in love in a dangerous cruel world. Emma could’ve kept the story simple with two gay characters but she took big steps to include Eddie a character with Asperger Syndrome and a homophobic father.
I’ve only read one other book about two guys falling in love and I must say this book is a must read. It’s not a smut read. It’s a dark romance with a HEA.
The easy part was reading Emma Scott’s work. The hard part was formulating my thoughts into words. I’m not good at writing or expressing my feelings the same way Emma can. This was an informative eye opening read.

Whenever I get an Emma Scott book, I like to hide away for several hours so I can simply live and breath the whole thing in my insulated bubble of literary bliss. Unfortunately that didn't happen this time because life was super busy. Max and Silas' story had to be read over the course of a week, in small increments. Normally I want to be done with a book after 3 days max, ready to move on to the next. That was not the case this time. Spending just a few chapters each night with Max and Silas was like inhaling vital lungfuls of air to help me respirate throughout the day until my next available opportunity to catch up with them again, only to repeat the process. I looked forward to those stolen moments with these two guys, and not because they were like my secret escape, but because they brought so much meaning and color to what their relationship represented.

Whether or not you are a fan of M/M would be irrelevant as to if this book is right for you. The plot points and character development are so poignant and riveting, anyone could pick this up and become sucked in. I dare you to not love Max and Silas. Go ahead, try it. (Spoiler alert: it's a losing battle). Max was abandoned by his family after they discovered his sexual orientation, and left to fend for himself on the streets. The way he managed to rise above from that to the man he is today is nothing short of awe inspiring because he is not this bitter, callous person with a chip on his shoulder. He yearns for love and acceptance from his family, and in the meantime, he wears his heart on his sleeve in his job and has so much compassion, it is a wonder that anyone could actually judge him for his life preferences. As for Silas, he exists in an emotional tomb. Slated to be the succeeding CEO of his father's company, Marsh Pharma, Silas is living out the blueprint set forth for him with the appropriate reputation, profile and family values. However, what is seen on the outside does not always match what's on the inside. Silas puts up a good front, though, because he feels like a failure internally and has so much to prove with big shoes to fill.

It was very easy and natural for me to relate to Max from the get go. He has this warm and affable disposition that could brighten a dreary mood. He's openly transparent and he has no reason to put on pretenses because he learned the hard way that living out the truth is what matters most. As for Silas, he has a cold affect that feels like icicles are forming in his very presence. He's a locked vault because he can only act according to the script, never mind what he wants or desires. The only exception is towards his adorably endearing brother Eddie. It's those moments with Eddie that reveal the kind of tenderness and affection that Silas is capable of. However, after a few solid interactions with Max, I found myself gravitating towards Silas even more so where I became firmly planted as a Silas supporter.

What these two guys find in one another is everything they deserve in life and more. For all their struggles, rejection, feelings of worthlessness and isolation, they discover solace and reprieve. To finally have someone who has their back through thick and thin is no small thing in their existence. There's a lot of layers in this journey so the focus isn't simply on Max and Silas becoming a couple. There are several issues addressed that mirror what is seen in society today, including but not limited to: pharmaceutical drug abuse, suicide, depression, corruption, homophobia and fraud. For a fictional story, it's a pretty realistic picture of what exists in modern day so that the reader is aware of the struggles that people in Max and Silas' shoes still contend with. Love and happiness in its purest form doesn't demand a wrong or right way, it just is. I love all of Emma Scott's works, they are often 5 stars for me, but this one in particular stands apart in a very special way and comes with the highest recommendation as a must read.

Like the tittle says, it’s a beautiful story.
Character development was extremely good, pace and world building as well.
I couldn’t relate much with Silas, cuz despite the terrible things that happened in his past, he was pretty egotistical/selfish.
I do understand how much tied up he was by the situation with his family but, eventually wasn’t all that unmanageable.

I absolutely fell in love with Max’s persona, so sweet, so mature, so strong! And yet despite having an awful background himself, he was not selfish, he thought about everyone first but when the time came, he protected himself.

Only one thing in the entire book was not satisfactory at all:

    Beware spoiler ahead ->

The ending. Yup, as incredible that might sound and even tho I was completely happy with the couples HEA the family reunion and acceptance (on both sides) was a complete turn off for me.
It was unrealistic, it was unbelievable and it made no sense. I understand the reason why that was deployed that way, but I think it would have been a much more good ending just showing sometimes not everything can be fixed, not everyone will be on our shoes, not everyone will regret their bad actions and that is absolutely okay!

They got a beautiful family with their friends and so, I think showing a little sign of future family reconnection would be fine, but in this case as unrealistic as it was, I didn’t like ending such a great and raw story that way.

Despite that I absolutely recommend this reading, is not such a long one and you will have a nice feelings ride.

I'm having a hard time reviewing this book, simply because to write what I felt reading it would be giving away the magic.
It captures everything important that needs to be understood about love.
The pain, the acceptance, the triumph the word play of it.
The characters... Everyone just playing their part. What I mean by that is; it is a M/M romance but it has with such ease and compassion delivered the truth of love, about love, for love. The realities of life will hit you in the face, the realness of it will make you scream at the world, want to put on cape and fly off to rescue every Max & Silas in the world. And they do need rescuing.
The author's sincerity really shows in the story. She has with such genuinety made the reader aware of what really matters. Sometimes with direct words other times with a hidden rhythm. "All the changing colors of my life"
someday, someday was a deeply moving, swoon worthy read, one whose purpose for being written I will whole heartedly support.

Loved everything about this book, how it started to how it ended! ❤️

I loved how Max and Silas healed each other, made each other stronger. I loved every character in this book, besides Mr. Marsh (the father). Gaaah how infuriating that man was. I wanted to scream to him and make him suffer.

But anyway, I loved how difficult aspects were brought to attention, how they were carefully and beautifully described by the author. Like the prejudice and homophobic situations. Or like Eddie’s condition, as an example. I LOVED to get to know him, and I wish he would have an entire book just for him!

This story was precious. It was touching, heartbreaking, hot af, and capable of make me feel.
This is how every MM book should be written, with compassion, with real words and feelings.
That’s what I liked most about it. Max’s background is the reality of so many people, and it’s so sad because it’s true. And this makes a story believable, the rawness of the characters’ feelings, their struggles, their perfect way of being imperfect.

I loved how resilient the heroes were, even with all the conflict going on in Silas’ life for example, how he became himself by being loved.
Sometimes that is just what some people need, to be loved, so they can get stronger, get on their own feet and realize that they are able to love someone back and find happiness.

Max and Si were perfect, their story was beautiful and I will never forget it.

“Someday, Someday” gets 5+⭐️ from me and goes to my “all time favorites” list!
