    Brilliant writer!
I’m hooked! Just finished Secret Thoughts. I only have time to read at night and it relaxes me. Prepare for a bumpy ride and enough twists and turns to keep your brain engaged long after you put the book down if you can. I love HS Clark’s characters, Dr. Paul Powers and Lin. Fast paced and definitely believable. If we knew what was going on under our noses we’d never want to leave our beds. I can’t imagine a day without my computer or devices but what bait we are for the wicked.

I love Clark’s imagination and how fortunate we all are to benifit from HS Clark’s profession, as an anesthesiologist. His book reads as a Robin Cook mystery but only better. Well done. I read Immortal Fear first. It was riveting as well. What grabbed me first was the cover art. My first mystery novel just came out and I would love to know who designed the cover. Bravo! I’ve been an artist for over thirty years and there is no way you could pass that one up. I have definitely decided a great cover will grab your reader first and then everything else will follow. Can’t wait for his next book.

What a scary concept! A gripping book, well written and well-worth reading. ......I wrote that much a while ago and just re-read the book before I went on to Dr. Clark's IMMORTAL FEAR. I loved loved loved SECRET THOUGHTS the second time around! And I have to thank Dr. Clark for answering me personally in an email when I had a question about Dr. Z's origins. I look forward to starting on IMMORTAL FEAR tonight and again, highly recommend this book.

This was an ok book. I consider it a quick read. I prefer a more complex and detailed story line. I read this book as a rest period from my usual favorite authors. I try to find other authors that i have not read. Unfortunately it did not make me want to read any more from this author.

It's a movie in written form. Action, adventure, bad guys, good guys, and some who seem to be both.
Renegade MRIs or just evil brilliant doctors. Is one man/woman behind this complicated yet easy to read story?
A race through Columbian villages and jungle are the scene of the finally including escape from A toxic inferno by helicopter.
    I loved every minute!
From Seattle to Columbia this is engaging from the beginng..
Can one super intelligent mind kill from within or is it some horrible plot?
You have to read it. Would be a terrific movie.

Good plot, story but author is amateurish in his writing. I hope he gets a mentor to help him make his characters more believable and writing a bit more smooth. I really liked the story idea and execution.

Very exciting story. I could not stop reading this book. The story line is pretty wild but still interesting. I can't wait for the next Dr. Powers story.

H.S. Clark’s book, ‘Secret Thoughts’ feels like a cross between Michael Crichton’s ‘The Andromeda Strain’ and William Gibson’s ‘Spook Country’—not entirely in plot, but in the sheer way the book propels you into the thick of white-knuckle suspense, yet, surprisingly, it doesn’t sacrifice depth and emotional gravitas.

‘Secret Thoughts’ is an absolute delight to read—the language crackles with the texture of its setting, with the vibrancy of its painstakingly developed characters, wrapped up in a plot that chugs along at full speed right at the get-go. The book starts out with a seemingly accidental series of deaths—people dying from cold medicine—only it turns out those were not accidents. Worse, the fingers of blame point to Dr. Paul Powers—the only person who’s putting everything on the line just to find the real culprit. And that’s only the beginning, as the thick blanket of intrigue close in on Powers, you will not be able to put the book down.

What’s more, author Clark knows his science and technology—he has an uncanny way of dipping his arm in hard science only to heighten the choke-hold on the reader’s imagination, and emerge from it with a flourish. Let me just suffice it to say that I love ‘Secret Thoughts’ to shreds—this is a rare literary treat that you don’t find everyday on Kindle or anywhere else. Those who love the genre will totally dig this. A solid five-star rating for this immensely entertaining book!

Spoilers in this review, if you don't want to ruin some of the story, don't read this.
If you are going to write a medical thriller mystery, you might want to do some research. For instance, product tampering with a drug product that leads to multiple deaths will not be handled by the local police! It is a Federal crime - that means FDA, federal marshals, and FBI, not city and county cops.
Annoying little thing, but I have seen several Bellevue city police officers, but not one of them was ever wearing brass buttons...
There were a lot of these little jarring disconnects with reality that I found very annoying in a book that could have been pretty good, if the author had gone to some knowledgeable beta readers to clean up the areas outside of his expertise.

The story is marketed as a "Medical Thriller". Well, it is has a strong medical bent but I'd say it was a thriller and rather like Ian Flemings stories where one needs to suspend reality and follow the twists and turns as the intrepid hero continues against all of the odds.

It is a fast paced story that sweeps you through US medical practice, police and law enforcement and finally the federal government agencies and ends up in Columbia to tie up the loose ends. The story is far-fetched in places but if you put aside any issues with practicality (and I could) then it is an interesting read with an intriguing plot and some interesting characters.

I guessed the end ... I will not spoil it by telling you but there is a twist that's left for the next book.
Buy it, I think you may enjoy it.

H.S.Clark has written a complex and gripping story which will leave you wondering who you can trust, afraid to take even an ordinary pain killer if the bottle has come off a supermarket shelf. Then you have to fear so many extraordinary occurrences that the final unmasking of the real villain is almost a relief. Couldn't put it down even though I didn't always understand some of the medical terms. Incredibly readable. Just hope Dr Powers develops into a series.

If you loved and miss Micheal Crichton's books, you are in for a treat. If this is H.S. Clark's first offering then I reckon we are headed in the right direction. Secret thoughts has all the research and minute details needed for this genre PLUS the pace of a good Dan Brown novel. I'll be looking out for the next one. Bravo!
