Sin and Swoon (Blood and Bone Book 2) Kindle Edition
Not even the warning label on the experimental project could have prepared Jane Spears for the nightmare she would walk into when the Ashley Potter case landed in her lap. Deep inside the victim’s mind, Jane finds clues hinting at the worst crimes she has ever come upon. But the bread crumbs don’t lead anywhere, and in the waking light Jane discovers nothing is as she believed. The conspiracy goes deeper than she can reveal, and the crimes are too hideous to leave unsolved. Can she stop it all in time, or will she be sucked in—trapped by the deranged mastermind?

- Reviewed in the United States on August 14, 2015Format: KindleVerified PurchaseWhat an exceptional follow-up to the first book in this series, Blood and Bone (Blood and Bone Series Book 1)! Although both books are stand-alone, they really do complement each other, and why deprive yourself of such fabulous reads. I read Blood and Bone several months ago and it really lingered with me. I even put in a calendar alert on my phone to purchase Sin and Swoon when it was released this week, downloaded and read it in one sitting. I also took the opportunity to re-read Blood and Bone at a slower pace than the first time. The story is so multi-faceted that a re-read provided more insight into the background of the characters and the intricate plot. Trust me, you will not skim a single word in either book. I can't elaborate any more without providing spoilers, but Sin and Swoon is as wild a ride as the first. I think I forgot to breathe during the chapter in which Jane meets Dash's family! OMG, tension was palpable. I almost hated Dash at that point. Jane is so amazingly discerning of the people around her. She doesn't crumble in the face of adversity and takes the bull by the horns. Again, it is not really a cliffhanger ending. It comes to an outstanding conclusion, but the reader will be really anxious for the next in this series which will be released in the fall. Tara Brown has quite an imagination to go along with her creative writing.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2016Format: Audible AudiobookVerified PurchaseThe audiobook and ebook earn a 4 star from this reader because the presentation of the story is well done. Although book one ended abruptly and left readers hanging, book two brings a reader through more twists and turns as the story becomes clearer, characters more sinister, and the unreliable narrator (main character) unveils more of her reality. The biggest surprise comes near the end when one character is revealed to be evil and criminal; it's a good setup going into book three. While Blood and Bone demanded absolute reader attention, Sin and Swoon is less murky and easier to follow with outside distractions. I still wouldn't recommend multi-tasking or the reader may miss hints and clues that unravel in this book or are placed for the final book. I recommend this book for any reader that enjoys complex stories and characters, and isn't upset by violence and sexual content. The real world can be ugly, this book is a reflection of how horrible it can be.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2015Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI was so excited to dive back in to this crazy mind bending world with Jane! What crazy crap are we going to experience with her this time! I didn’t think it could get more horrifying then Blood and Bone. I laugh now, this is Tara freaking Brown we are talking about here! This woman’s mind is crazy scary LOL Right off the back you start the book in confusion until you realize Jane is in a mind jump. TB still manages to keep us confused, guessing and on our toes even though we now know this crazy game of mind jumping Jane plays. And as terrible as things are, because let’s face it, Jane is only involved in the worst of the worst cases, you still find moments of pure happiness and hysterical banter mixed throughout. We get to see a new side of Jane here too, a little bit of a softer side. We get to delve into her brain a little and see why she does what she does in the mind jumps and how smart her little brain is at putting the puzzle pieces together. The depth of the story that unfolds here is very intense! I can’t wait to read it again so I can that much more of the little clues hidden throughout. My husband is even sucked in and obsessed with this story and is upset he has to wait so long for the next book! :D
- Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is still a little confusing and hard to understand but it was a lot better than the first one and I'm looking forward to finishing the series. Not my favorite by her but an interesting read as long as you are able to figure out what she is trying to get across.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2015Format: KindleVerified PurchaseMy first thought was, "Is this one better than book 1, or just as good?"
I'm still deciding on that one.
But seriously, after everything made sense at the end of book 1, book 2 is easier to follow. Oh, don't get me wrong, it's still mind-blowing and mind-boggling, and it still has you guessing and second-guessing everything.
So, Jane is Jane whenever she's not analyzing patients, victims that are in a coma. When she's not hunting down psychos, she's a woman that has a hot doctor for a fiance, one that loves her and would die for her. I have to tell you, Dash/Derek has stolen my heart, that perfect British bastard.
But nothing is as it seems. Both in Jane's professional and personal life. Who's the psycho that did gruesome and horrible things to eleven girls, how did it all start and is it someone Jane knows? Plus, what secrets does Dash/Derek keep from Jane? Who is he, really?
I am so going to reread both of these books, before the third and last one is out! Loved it. Brilliant x2. 5 stars.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2015Format: KindleVerified PurchaseSin and Swoon is the second book in a series and I really enjoyed this one even more than Bone and Blood. In this book you get to know the characters Jane and Dash more and I loved them. There's more revealed about Dash's upbringing and Jane is just so badass cool.
The story took lots of twists and turns, with me again not really knowing where the story was heading. I'm looking forward to the release of the third book later this year. It will be a must-read!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 19, 2015Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAgain Tara draws you in with plot twists you don't see coming. Girls are disappearing and Jane has to find out where, why, and by who. But things don't go as planned. Now she's on a race for time to catch the person behind it. Trust is earned, and there are few she trusts. But again she is tested. How high up does this go??

5.0 out of 5 stars Bloody awesome & scary..
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe second book in the series is just as exceptional as the first, but the reader has more of an understanding of the mind-walking, so it's not as big a mind blast as the first book. But it has its own 'OMG' twists & keeps you pumping every page. I love Tara's brilliance in writing & scary that I believe this 's***e' actually goes on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Twist of the century!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI am completely in bits!!! Once again, Tara Brown has outdone herself and has had me jumping out my seat, shouting at my kindle and making my partner think I had broken it - but oh no it was just THE twist of the century!!!!!
An absolutely brilliant read, wonderfully written. If you loved the first book this WILL NOT disappoint - just be sure to lock yourself away as you will not want to put it down. It follows on perfectly from Blood and Bone (which if you haven't read then you MUST) and expends on areas you wanted to know more about.
I cannot wait for the final installment - anyone got a time machine to take me to the future???

5.0 out of 5 stars Mind blowing
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseLove the first two books. Can't wait to read the third. November can't come quick enough. It keeps you on your toes and second guessing everything. It was a Good read and I will definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to read about a very different culture and people high up the chain and what actually can and could go on behind closed doors
