WHY C. G. COOPER MATTERS
Fiction has the power to change lives.
Pay a visit to Cooper Country and you’ll understand why. With his unique voice and flair for creating characters you’d love to hang out with, C. G. Cooper imparts every one of his novels with messages that perfectly illuminate what Faulkner called, “the human heart in conflict with itself.” In them, characters confront hard truths about life, the necessity of war, the military industrial complex, and why and how good men and women die.
But there are messages within the messages.
There is the power of the individual to triumph over evil against overwhelming odds; the struggle of good people against their inner demons; there is brotherhood, family, the discovery of allies in unexpected places, struggles with faith; there is community; there is authenticity; Cooper’s heart is on every page, beating hard and fast through action and moments of tenderness alike.
Expect high-octane action, slow-burn thrills, and gut-wrenching drama. Expect the ultimate conflict of the human heart.
This is Cooper Country. Lives will change.
THE LOWDOWN
Drawing on his days as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps—a stint that came on the heels of a degree in foreign affairs from UVA—Cooper sifted his experience through his vivid imagination and created Corps Justice, the first novel in the beloved Corps Justice series. Thus, a band of characters was born that would go on to enthrall readers throughout 17 novels and counting. With more than 2 million book downloads and multiple appearances in the Amazon Top 100, C. G. Cooper remains one of the most successful USA TODAY and Amazon best-selling authors.
In 2020, he won the prestigious James Webb Award presented by the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation for his novel Chain of Command.
In addition to bouncing around the country in search of the perfect vacation (turns out, it is anywhere with his family), Cooper has called Nashville home ever since his final Marine duty station. When not enjoying the laid-back lifestyle of Music City, he’s doing his best to add more novels to the growing list at cg-cooper.com.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2024Format: KindleVerified PurchaseFrom book one, I was hooked. The storyline opens the reader's eyes to a world of adventures, espionage, thrills, and covert action. To add to the weaved cloth of great writing, the author developed each character to showcase their past, present, and what led them to become Warriors. Though not all have served in the military, every positive character had the spirit of an inner warrior that manifested as the storyline evolved throughout the series.
The books are standalone artwork, but I enjoyed reading the books in order to follow the journey and action of the characters.
I'm a fervent admirer and reader of military, covert black ops, and espionage storylines. A lot of the authors that I've read have a disclaimer if there are hints of personal political opinions weaved into the fictional stories. Throughout the Corps Justice series so far, as surprise plot twists and jaw-dropping reveals happened, I found myself wondering if the storyline/political reveal aligned with the authors personal beliefs.
Here in Book 12, Sabotage, I laughed, pondered, and literally cried as the book came to a close. Every page in the story was descriptive, edgy, adventurous, and filled with action scenes.
The Corps Justice series pays homage to the service men and women who have chosen to protect the people and lands.
As an American, I believe wholeheartedly, we must do more and become better civilians in recognizing and supporting the sacrifices of our military and agency service members. Every breath of the sweet aroma of freedom should bring a quiet moment of acknowledgment for our service people, past and present.
Excellent writing, Mr. C. G. Cooper.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI normally rate these reads a five. I enjoy the writing style that draws the reader in allowing us to see the scenes without minds eye. The character development has always made me feel like I know each one personally. Sabotage definitely delivers on all of these areas. I did feel like the story line was disconnected as we moved through events. Rather than experiencing events ourselves the author,Mr. Cooper, resorted to offering explanations to connect events to the whole. I did not find this tactic as satisfying as experiencing different parts for ourselves and putting the puzzle pieces together. On to number 13 now. Anxious as to how the series wraps, am hoping in a good place for our patriots. Carol R
- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseOk, the journey continues. It's noteworthy that G.G. can CREATE such UNPREDICTABLE, INTERESTING adventures, that connect loosely to other books, these page turners are quick and fun reads. Start them and, like me, you'll be ready for the next interaction.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI love a good writer that takes the time to develop characters, and that takes a lot of work when doing a series. But this one is good. Recommend the series for people who enjoy what I like to call, “fantasy justice”. You know, we’re the good guys win, and the bad guys lose. It doesn’t always happen in real life, but it can in our fantasies, thanks to people like Mr. Cooper.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseEvery book in the series is better than its predecessor. You can read them in order, but they are actually stand alone adventures. I do, however, recommend you begin at the first book and work, no, enjoy, your way through each.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis was one of a series of books, so it is possible that the characters were filled out earlier, but this book was more about the action. We saw two men assigned to spy on Chinese operations in the Horn of Africa, who were captured, and then the rescue attempt by more people. It was constant action and twists so the reader did not know what would happen next.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2024Format: KindleVerified PurchaseIt' s always good for me when I get to read about stories about service men honoring their country with their service! This is one of friendships, sacrifice and courage to do what is right in the face of adversity. Once again I had the forbearance to read this story and walk away feeling pro have read it. Great story and hope to read more in the future!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseJust wow, what a way to blow away your reader and the have impact in this world. This was the best ending to date.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great read.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis book has a few unseen twists and turns and that helps to make it a very good read.
The basic story line is what probably happens in real life and makes it all the more interesting and believable.
A good read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Twists and turns I didn't see from this great book
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAnother great book.
I could see the way this one was going to go but there were a few twists I didn't see. This one involves more of the president than the last few. It's good to see others step up, although I do love Cal and see how he handles things. Liberty the dog is taking a place within the group as well. Love the one contact that dresses up and gives great info. I wonder if he'll be in other books.
Starts and ends with a fast pace. This is another great book by the author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still Writing Winners!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseIt had been a few months since I had read a Corps Justice story, but after finishing "Sabotage", I see that Cooper still has the gift of keeping me severely entertained.
Well done! Meeting up with all the characters again was sort of like coming home to a cozy house. I'm looking forward to more. Thanks.
