Saving Sara (Alaska Blizzard Book 5) Kindle Edition
Pro hockey player Aaron Ferrar has shit luck with women. With one divorce, one psycho, and far too many one-night stands under his belt, he can’t seem to break his bad dating habits. He knows he’s not good enough for his sweet, sexy best friend, so he would never go there, but it’s getting harder and harder to resist her.
Veterinary assistant Sara Chandler has floundered since graduating from college. She left both academia and hockey behind, and now she’s a nanny for her best friend while working part-time at a local veterinary clinic until she gets into veterinarian school. She’s always been hot for her hockey-playing best friend, but she’s not in his league and she’s leaving Anchorage soon anyway.
When disaster strikes, Aaron doesn’t hesitate to jump in, but nothing is ever going to be the same for them. He doesn’t know how to help her and neither of them ever do things the easy way.

About the author

USA Today Bestselling author Kat Mizera is a South Florida native. Born in Miami Beach with a healthy dose of wanderlust, she's called Los Angeles, Long Island, upstate New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Atlanta home. She's never been able to pick which locale is her favorite, but if pressed, she'd probably choose the west coast.
Kat's a typical PTA mom with a wonderful and supportive husband (Kevin) and two amazing boys (Nick and Max). When she's not writing, she's either scrapbooking or indulging in her second love (after writing) - traveling. Greece is one of her favorite places in the world. She loves that Athens is a big city with a small-town feel. The food, beaches and culture keep her going back as often as possible. She hopes to retire there one day so she can spend her days writing books on the beach.
As you can guess from her series, the Las Vegas Sidewinders, Kat loves hockey. She is also a freelance hockey writer, covering her favorite team, the Florida Panthers, and any other teams that have an interesting story. The rest of the time, she writes novels: sexy, romantic fiction that she hopes makes you as happy as it makes her. There's something enticing about hockey players and romance...

- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2020Kat Mizera does it again with Saving Sara. I love the Alaska Blizzard series. You can't beat hot hockey players falling in love. Sara is amazing. You will just love her and how she falls hard for her best friend Aaron. You feel for Aaron throughout this read. If you followed this series so far then you know what I mean. You get why they don't want to rock the boat with their friendship. You can't deny the chemistry and pull between Aaron and Sara at all. They are hot together and will steal your heart. I love how Aaron jumps in and helps Sara when she really needs it. You will just love Merlin too. This book is hot and filled with amazing friends and of course some laughs too. I just couldn't put this one down
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2020Aaron and Sara have been friends for 2 years. Then a one night love making turns the friendship cold. Sara has been trying to get into veterinary school for a while. Aaron has had 2 bad relationships, and feels like he can't be boyfriend/husband material. The characters Kat Mizera writes about inn her series of novels are very true to life, and I feel like I know them as friends as well. Well written stories with love, problems, and humor thrown in. I look forward to more from the Blizzard series of books.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2021Aaron and Sara’s story is so funny and sweet cause it takes place over 5 books so when you finally get it their story, you’re just wanting them to get together and not mess it up but than there wouldn’t be a story.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2020I enjoyed this book as much as the others in the Blizzard series. Sara and Aaron go from friends to lovers and learn to enjoy what they have after much soul searching. Sara is not living in the present, always looking for the next big thing in her life. Aaron is afraid to look deeper into how he feels about his best friend and finally realizes he is in love with her.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2020I loved Aaron and Sara's story. It was a great addition to the Alaska Blizzard hockey series. The team is like a big family and it's great that Aaron, their goalie is finding his happily ever after. Sara has been his best friend for years can they go from friends to more?
- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2022Saving Sara's a good read for adults. All about love and other things couples go through. A big mix up about college is finally settled.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2020This couple has always been my favorite! Sarah and Aaron have been through so much and watching them finally slow down was amazing! I mean they still didn't make things easy but Wow! They were combustible!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best friends to lovers
This has always been my favourite trope and these two are amazing characters. Sara and Aaron are best friends but they really needed to communicate more effectively with each other. Thankfully they managed , eventually to get their act together. I love everything about this book and can't recommend it or this series highly enough.
