SCENTS and SENSUALITY (Love, Laughter, and Shenanigans) Kindle Edition
A science nerd desperate for a date to her snooty cousin's wedding. A man desperate to put an end to his matchmaking mom's schemes. Let the games begin!
Perfumer Amanda Whitfield no longer sees the science geek when she looks in her mirror—thanks to the makeover her best friend gave her—but inside she still feels like that geeky girl. She knows all about the Science of Sex Appeal, in a purely intellectual way, but when it comes to a practical application of the knowledge, as in Romance and Sex, Amanda draws a blank.
Desperate for a date to her cousin's wedding, Amanda, follows her best friend's advice to portray an empty-headed hottie whose bra size is a bigger number than her IQ. She'll do whatever it takes to get a date for her cousin's wedding because there's no way she'll go without a man on her arm.
Enter a matchmaking mom with a son to marry off. Computer genius Harrison Kincaid is fed up with his mother's crazy schemes. He's determined to teach her a lesson, but, first, he must deal with her latest prospect, Amanda Whitfield. He hatches a plan to ensure that Amanda will kick him to the curb.
Surprise! When Amanda and Harrison meet, desire crackles like electricity between them. They each have an agenda. They both lie. What will happen when the masquerade is revealed? Will the truth set them free to love or rip them apart?

About the author

Joan Reeves, Writing Happily Ever After—Time After Time, is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Romance. Regardless of the sub-genre, all of her novels have the same underlying premise: "It's never too late to live happily ever after. Her novels have been published in half a dozen languages, and her books are available in audio, ebook, and print.
NOTE: Since Joan has been writing for several years and had print books published with many publishers—American and foreign—be sure you choose a print book with a copyright date after 2011 because Amazon shows all of her old print books here. (Authors have no control over this.) The new print editions have been expanded and show new cover art.
When not writing romance—or nonfiction to share what she has learned in life—Joan divides her time between the hustle and bustle of Houston and a house in the Texas Hill Country where she and her hero, her husband, sit on the porch at night, look at the star-studded sky, and listen to the coyotes howl.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2015Quick read and a little farfetched
- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2013This was a beautifully researched romp with the background story about the science of creating perfumes. I love it when I learn things while enjoying a storyline. And she did this so well. This was an enjoyable read (especially because Ms. Reeves is a talented author). One thing might have been more so if Marky's & Leon's identity was hidden better, yeah, it was a romance novel & not a mystery so that's just me I suppose- I love the gasp factor or didn't see that comin'. It seemed to have lacked Joan's famous and beloved sense of humor, too. There were no "laugh out loud" moments I so look forward to. I suppose the additions I would have liked would have shot this over 300 pages and how she had the time for these 278 boggles the mind. A strong B in my books.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2013Joan Reeves has another clever romantic comedy in Scents and Sensuality. Amanda Whitfield is a heroine with whom readers are sure to fall in love. And Harrison Kincaid is too yummy to resist. I love the main characters and also loved the secondary characters. The pace is perfect and so is the story. I can't imagine the research that went into this book, but I enjoyed learning more about scents because the author imparts her information organically so that it never intrudes in the plot. I recommend this book to everyone who loves a great romance with humor.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2015The characters and the story do not make sense. I had to fast forward through pages because I just couldn't take it anymore. Buyer beware.
