About the author

Joan Reeves, Writing Happily Ever After—Time After Time, is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Romance. Regardless of the sub-genre, all of her novels have the same underlying premise: "It's never too late to live happily ever after. Her novels have been published in half a dozen languages, and her books are available in audio, ebook, and print.
NOTE: Since Joan has been writing for several years and had print books published with many publishers—American and foreign—be sure you choose a print book with a copyright date after 2011 because Amazon shows all of her old print books here. (Authors have no control over this.) The new print editions have been expanded and show new cover art.
When not writing romance—or nonfiction to share what she has learned in life—Joan divides her time between the hustle and bustle of Houston and a house in the Texas Hill Country where she and her hero, her husband, sit on the porch at night, look at the star-studded sky, and listen to the coyotes howl.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2018Second Chance Bride is more than a romance. It’s a story about life with all its mistakes and wrong turns. Most of us have had a few of these and most of us would love a chance to hit the do-over button.
In Second Chance Bride, Constance does get a do-over. But it has limitations and new choices all over again. One of the limitations is Alex, something she didn't bargain for when she decided to roll the dice again and get something she wants badly. She’s found a way for a second chance with the son she gave away at birth. But, Alex is a part of this new do-over, and she simply can’t “do” that. She’s desperately afraid if she does accept Alex as part of the new deal, she’ll lose everything again.
This second book in Joan Reeves series, All Brides Are Beautiful, does an excellent job as a stand-alone read. I hadn’t read the previous book and found myself totally submerged and invested in the story. The heat level is well balanced with the storyline, the characters very believable, (what woman of a certain age hasn’t experienced at least one thing she’d give anything to change) and plausible for the situation they’re caught in.
Of course, a book like this always carries a head’s up with it. If you read one of the books, you won’t be able to resist going back for more. And because this one kept drawing me back inside the pages, I’m going back for more. I want to see deeper inside this complicated drama, and of course, be with the people again.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2019Easy to follow stand-alone. No editing errors, graphic violence or drag-you-down drama.
Enjoyable HEA romance. Believable characters with distinct personalities. Thought-provoking and memorable dialogue.
“Ah, you know what Graciella says about coincidence. It’s God’s way of remaining anonymous.”
'He told me young dogs would always be adopted but that this old dog would never find someone to love him if we didn’t take him. I told him that the dog wouldn’t have many years or maybe not even months of life left. He said that was an even better reason to adopt him so he’d know love before he died.”
No desire to re-read this story. I look forward to other works by this author.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2020Although I liked this book, I can't say that is a favorite of mine. It just didn't pull me in as much as I had hoped. Maybe for me, it was over detailed when it came to all the things purchased in multiple shopping trips. It was also detailed when it came to the houses and locations. Still I have to give the author credit for doing a good job of being descriptive, just that it didn't work as well for me.
Yes, it did have good main characters and that includes Ian who is Constance's natural son.
Also enter in Dr. Sydney Union, someone that you can just see is going to be a BIG problem. And she sure is because she wants what she wants no matter what.
Things do ramp up as we comes closer to the end and there are several surprises in store. That was something that I did like. There is a H.E.A. coming up and includes a sweet Epilogue.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 3, 2019I wasn't even going to read this after meeting Constance (aka wicked stepmother) in book 1. But am glad I did. Looking forward to reading more. Even though the description claims each book stands alone, I think it gives a more well-rounded view of all the characters to have read the previous story.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2020This book kept me engaged all the time. I think the way you brought some of the character together and change who these people were like was wonderful. Thanks for sharing your talent with me.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2018I Read this book and decided to check out the first book in the series, “April Fool Bride” to find I already read and loved it. Although this book is part of a series, it is a great stand alone. Just like the last book I just loved the book. A fast read with an interesting plot. I hope you pick up this book and read it and enjoyed as much as I have. I am looking forward to the next book in the series and will be going back to read other Joan Reeves books.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2019Rare find! A second in a series that didn't keep referring to previous characters. Here the story was seamless and believable. Tragic and romantic and sex with a capital S. Now I want to go back and read book one and then book three in the series. Then read anything else written by Joan Reeves. Excellent storyteller.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2018This is such a lush book. The pacing is smooth, and the plot is engrossing. The reason behind Constance's move to Lantana Lane is mysterious at first, so I was stunned when I learned what it is. It's a great plot twist.
Alex/Alejandro is a dear man. The way he encourages and supports Constance is utterly sweet.
The best part, though, is how Constance's past is redeemed. It's absolutely beautiful.
