Shardless is everything you ever want in a fantasy novel! Simply put this is one of the best books I've read all year. Taly is a seemingly human girl with a mysterious past. Skye is her faithful fae companion of the last 15 years. There is an ultra-slow burn romance of friends to maybe lovers happening between them. When Taly starts to see some changes in herself she decides to protect everyone she knows and loves, even to her own detriment. I absolutely fell in love with this book and am DYING to read book two, Acolyte. You simply MUST read this book!

    This book was really hard for me to get into. Mainly because I really dislike this style of writing. I’m a first person reader and struggle with anything other than that.
    So it took me a long time to get into the book. This is a very slow burn series. It’s not heavy on romance AT ALL. So if you are looking for spice this ain’t it. But if you are looking for a clean fantasy, look no further.

    I was very interested in this story and where it was going closer to the end. That is when the book hooked me. It’s not a bad book by any means, just not what I typically read. But this one got recommended to me multiple times so I tried it out.
    This is just a different take on fae characters. I would say this is recommended for upper YA/NA readers.

    The magic system at first I found it a little confusing, but as I got more in the story, I started to really enjoy it. It is its own system. Taly and Skye are so amazing.l I'm 1000% here for their love. The entire journey of this book is top notch. So many twists ND turns. So many things happening. Moments of "what the actual" I have a hard time finding books that surprise me. This one didn't but it also did. I expected some of it but the last 25% of the book was so pulse pounding and a lot of things happened that had me actually say " no way!"

    If u like fantasy, fae, a strong fmc and a great mmc character and a handful of secondary characters that you will love then this is the book for you.
