Sheet Music (Razor's Edge Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 86 ratings

My name is Cayson James Razor, front man and lead singer for Razor’s Edge. I’m a rocker through and through, and nothing can change me. I don’t believe in romance and happily ever afters. Or at least that’s what I thought.

Enter Kayla Marshall, romance writer and travel companion for thirty days. She’s oblivious to how the real world works. It’s my duty to open her eyes to the fantasy land she lives in.

When the unthinkable happens and my long-time friend and drummer for Razor’s Edge leaves for rehab in the middle of a sixty-day, forthy-three-city tour, I’m faced with the reality that there is more to life than the music. But before I can tell Kayla that I was wrong, she disappears.

Now I’m questioning everything. Are there such things as happily ever afters, or are they just a fantasy people believe in?
This is my journey to discover if a rock god can give up his evil ways to find the one he was destined for.

I would like to very maturely start my review by saying this, *clears throat, takes a poised and graceful pose*
OMG K.L. MYERS I NEED MORE NOW! RIGHT NOW! GIMME GIMME GIMME!
Ok, now that I've gotten that very formal and mature bit out of the way I can tell you that I more than loved this! The prequel to Sheet Music had me totally hooked and on the edge of my seat for this book and I was not disappointed at all. Anyone who loves a good rock star romance (who doesn't?!) is going to LOVE this book! I fell in love with every single character and was completely lost in the world of Razor's Edge.

Cayson was *sigh* delicious. A bad boy rockstar on the outside, brooding, rude, and everything that makes you think a$*hole, but a total sweetheart on the inside who genuinely loves his woman even when he doesn't know it yet himself. You really see Cayson grow and become an amazing man as he finds his true feelings for Kayla. Kayla was just as awesome herself. Down to earth, kindhearted, but never a doormat she was someone I could easily relate to and understand. I adored her!

Together Cayson and Kayla were so wonderful. Their relationship wasn't a quick and easy instantly perfect one, they both had to work for it. That just made me love them even more. They both loved each other enough to fight through the hard times and that is what a relationship really is. I couldn't get enough of these two, and now I'm impatiently waiting for the next book in the series!

Love, love, love Kayla and CJ‘s story. Kayla shows such a strength by standing her ground and not being treated badly. CJ takes a while but finally comes around. Can’t wait for the next book

Well, I'm never one to shy away when I make a mistake, and I've certainly made a mistake in my assessment of the previous book, Rocking Between the Sheets. Turned out, that was simply the prelude to the ACTUAL series. I'd thought it was the first book, but all it did was give you a quickie of background events written out as a story that the series revolves around. And it's posted as the cheapie of the set to entice the readers to buy the rest.

    1) It's a phenomenal move, licking our interest just enough to read on.
    2) It explains so much that the prelude failed to deliver. Granted, there were still a few spots left forgotten, but there were also a few areas that had said stuff not seen in the matching scenes in the prelude.
    Also
    3) There is no way this would have survived as one huge story, what with how the author wrote the prelude as the basis. Any other method of writing this thing out, and the story would have likely bored the readers to death. The author did well putting this together.

Note to author: I commend you. I was wrong in my last review, and I admit that. Well done! It's not everyday someone proves me wrong in something, and I'm quite appreciative when they do. ESPECIALLY when it's a story written rather well.

I found a few typos, but they weren't horrible. Just something that could have been fixed with a final editing stage.

I LOVED what this story revolved around. I expected a pregnancy early on, which is overused. I was NOT expecting it to NOT be pregnancy, and boy that was a surprise. A good surprise. Pregnancies are overused, and the route the author took certainly wasn't. I LOVED how she wrote Cayson and Kayla handling the whole thing, and the devastating emotions that troubled them. It was great. A real heart-stopper.

I'm looking forward to the remaining piece of the series.

I like the characters and that they weren't so stubborn they listened to each other. From what I 'v read on this cancer, removal of both breasts doesn't prevent cancer in other parts. Hopefully more understanding will be in the future with a better outcome. I look forward to the next book.

After reading the prequel, Rocking Between the Sheets, I knew I needed to start this one right away. Cayson Razor is not your typical rocker. I mean, yes, he did have his share of girls, but he wasn't what the public thought or what the magazines said he was. Music was his life, his passion, and he would in no way, shape or form ever jeopardize that.

Kayla was quiet and innocent compared to all the other girls Cayson ever came across, and that petrified him beyond belief. But after realizing that what he believed in practically his entire life was not true, he opened his heart to Kayla. Of course, things aren't always easy and their relationship faced a test that could've easily broken anyone up.

This was not the typical rocker romance where the main characters face issues because of rumors or tabloids. The situation in this book went above and beyond that and it was a REAL issue that could affect anyone. Suffice it to say, that was a refreshing change.

If you're in the mood to swoon, you need to meet Cayson Razor! FIVE STARS!

Cayson and Kayla had brief relationship but Kayla left. Will they be able to reunite and ignite those sparks again.

The female was weaker and very insecure. I get she was going through a lot but there was,a lot of doubt and hesitation. Big issue, with the sorta cliffhanger ending yes there was closure and tied up the main story but still left a huge open ended ending. Not cool.

This book was amazing. Much like Rocking Between the Sheets, I devoured this book and loved every moment. There were times I wanted to smack Cayson over the head, and other times I wanted to scream at Kayla. This book was raw with emotions and really played with how life can throw a wrench at a couple. They made it through, but book 2 cannot come soon enough! I cannot wait to find out what happens next. K.L. Myers did it again and I am just so amazed with this book.
