A.D. Ellis is an Indiana girl, born and raised. She spends much of her time in central Indiana as an instructional coach/teacher in the inner city of Indianapolis, being a mom to two amazing teens, and wondering how she and her husband of over two decades haven't driven each other insane yet. A lot of her time is also devoted to phone call avoidance and her hatred of cooking.

She loves chocolate, hot tea, sweet wine with friends, pizza, and naps along with reading and writing romance. These loves don’t leave much time for housework, much to the chagrin of her husband. Who would pick cleaning the house over a nap or a good book? She uses any extra time to increase her fluency in sarcasm.

    Wow!! Tears in my eyes and just in love with that ending! It was everything I needed!!

    I couldn’t help but just stalk these two throughout the other books and hope for something to jump out at them. Bay seemed to be so stubborn and needed a good back of the head slap to open his eyes! Kyson needed to just open his mouth and say something but they both seemed to think it was spoken about with out so many words. I loved Bay’s grandmother so much and laughed at her antics!

    Reading about all Kyson had to offer as far as his profession begged me to make my own massage appointment! I love that these 3 men who had such huge dreams and worried their dreams would come true but with issues. I am in awe of what we find out in this last chapter and just all around in awe of Kyson and Bay. Loved this!

    I'm sad that the series is ending but happy to finally be able to read Kyson and Bay's story. It was very frustrating! Hahaha! I felt like the first two books in the series also included all the foreplay for Ky and Bay so when it was time for their story, things would just happen. I don't want to ruin it for any of you future readers but they take a few more frustrating turns until these guys realize what is right in front of them. And then it's all honesty, romance and hot chemistry. It's a well written story and I love the updates to all of the guys that we get!!

    Silver and Spice: Great final book in the series. Loved all the titles. Very spicy romance that started with a strong friendship. Fantastic writing all around. Great story telling and I loved all the characters. I loved how much Bay want to always put Arlo first and his romance wasn't as important. Kyson cared so much for Bay and Arlo it was a challenge but his feeling for both were so strong that it was hard when they were faking it and it took Bay's grandmother get them to realize they need the love. I loved it.

    Kyson (Ky) Silver, of ‘Silver and Spice’ by A.D. Ellis, has been attracted to Bay Spice ever since he met him. Bay is interested in Kyson as well. Bay uses their age difference as an excuse not to get closer to Ky. Also, Bay’s skewed view of what it means to be a parent to Arlo, his deceased sister’s son, as well as his stubborn determination to take care of Arlo all by himself, serve as reasons for him to keep Ky at arm’s length.

    When Bay’s wealthy grandmother offers him financial help with taking care of her great grandson, Bay jumps at the idea. However, she has one very important stipulation. Before she gives him any money, she wants him to be in a committed relationship, preferably with Ky as his partner. Bay is angry about her blackmail but really needs the money. Reluctantly, Bay tells Ky about his dilemma and asks if he will pretend to be his boyfriend for at least a month, in order to convince his grandmother that he has fulfilled her stipulations.

    Despite his cousins and their partner’s protest and against his own good judgement, Ky moves in with Bay and his son. It turns out to be a mixed bag of emotions for Ky, but he refuses to tell Bay how serious his feelings are for fear that Bay doesn’t feel the same way. Regardless of where his relationship with Bay stands, Ky adores Arlo. He loves reading him bedtime stories, playing games with him, taking him to the park, etcetera; Ky does whatever it takes to make the little boy happy. In no way does he consider caring for Arlo an obligation. Ky is trying to take it day by day, taking things as they come, but he can’t help thinking about what happens when the month ends.

    Bay is taken back by how much he enjoys having Ky live with him. It is good to share Arlo’s care and how well he and Ky get along. Instead of giving in to his feelings, Bay remains stubborn about not wanting to burden Ky with something that is not his responsibility. Even though they wake up with their bodies entangled, Bay refuses to give in to his growing feelings for Ky and take things any further than their arrangement stated. It’s not what Bay wants, but at the end of the month, Ky leaves and Bay lets him go.

    This is an intense, angsty story about two men who make too many assumptions and have too little communication. Fortunately, friends and family intervene and help them come to their senses. It was great seeing all of the other ‘Silvers’ and their partners and to learn how they are doing since they were introduced into the series. Of all the characters, Arlo, of course, stole the show.     Silver and Spice is the last book in the Silver in the City series. The first two books should be read first before this one. Book 2 had ended on a little bit of a cliff hanger that goes right into book 3.

    The tropes for this romance are age gap, forced-proximity, fake-relationship, and ready-made family. The plot does a really good job of fleshing out these tropes and creating an exciting story. Kyson Silver has been crushing on Bay since the moment he met him. The feeling is mutual, but Bay has his doubts about starting anything romantic with Kyson; first, Bay is a dad and finding someone willing to step up and take on the responsibility that comes with child is hard, and second, Bay is significantly older than Kyson. It takes the meddling of Bay’s grandmother to finally force these two men to take the first steps towards their own happily ever after. And it takes her continued meddling to keep them together and not let their own insecurities ruin their chances of a happy ever after.

    The audiobook was narrated by Michael Stone. He has a smooth voice with a steady rhythm. There isn’t a lot of different character voices, but he keeps each person distinct and it was easy to follow along with the audiobook. There was a lot of drama in this book and Michael Stone made sure to add the right inflections to help emphasize the dramatic moments as appropriate. The overall production of the audiobook was well done.
