About the author

With millions of books sold worldwide, Laurelin Paige is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling Author. She is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Game of Thrones or Letterkenny, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. She's also a proud member of Mensa International though she doesn't do anything with the organization except use it as material for her bio. She is represented by Rebecca Friedman.
You can connect with Laurelin on Facebook at www.facebook.com/LaurelinPaige or on Instagram @thereallaurelinpaige. You can also visit her website, www.laurelinpaige.com, to sign up for emails about new releases.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2019HOT! Raw and Intensely Carnal. Thrilling, terrifying and blisteringly smart, like nothing I’ve ever read. To describe Slay’s story, is to undermine it’s brilliance. Ruin is beautiful and ugly and utterly unforgettable.
A riveting tale of captivity, love and sexual suspense, you’ll rip through the pages. Trauma and trust, test the tenuous bonds of a fake marriage in the sultry atmosphere of a hidden island oasis. And Paige has us trapped there too, right where she wants.
Her second installment in the Slay series reads like a crossover between a modern, edgy Dr No and a high-end sexy season of Survivor, where Celia has to outwit and outlast Edward, her calculating, beautiful husband and his staff of cohorts. Her family, her own desires, even her future and friends exist only on the periphery.
The tension comes from Edward’s insistence they delve into Celia’s own Heart of Darkness. And the isolated setting lends itself perfectly to her over-calculating mind, her horrible past, and Edward’s rules which at first appear as benign shrugs to his wife.
But as Ruin unfolds, Edward’s true motives transform Celia and this reader. Every scene between them buzzes with piqued sensuality and metaphors of their journey. A staff’s son, a reclaimed antique desk, or shared bottle of booze, even orgasms, at just the right moment become symbols for what’s passing between them on so many levels.
Edward spends a great deal of the story on the edges of really monstrous behavior, but it’s never what you think. He deals out almost as much suspense and misdirection as Paige. And Celia wrestles with so much, naked in every way in front of her distant husband. I wept and moaned right along with her.
Like a play in four acts, Ruin is an internal story told with sharp knives, sterile gifts, and brutal honesty, it churns inside you too. It’s all so unexpected, or is it?
At one point, I had to reach out to talk to a fellow reader—it’s overwhelming in the most delicious ways—and I felt what Celia must have been thinking: What is happening to me?
It’s impossible to categorize this story. Everything I’ve said is true, and yet I’m certain I’ve done it a disservice.
A romance, a passion play, a satire on family and marriage. Even a healing tome on vulnerability. Gah! If you’re still here, buy it. There’s nothing else like it, Little Bird. 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2025This story was hot, intense and I couldn't put it down.It wasn't like the first story where I couldn't really get into it and almost didn't finish it.I now understand why Edward is the way he is and why Celia is the way she is.Her childhood was so painful, intense that I wanted come threw the pages and twist her father's head off and her mother wasn't much better, not to notice a differents in their daughter when she came home from her uncle Ron's house is beyond me and the one time she decided to tell, she was punish for it.Edward and his sister's child hood was much worse, separated, she was hurt, abused. But Edward makes me wish I could come thru pages of the book and punch him ,give him a swift kick in the Netherlands. I understand more of the story in this book than the first one,Edward and his sister are out to get the people who did such terrible this to his sister and himself.Atleast Edward and Celia are working on trust and maybe love!

- Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2025Okay, so right now, like this minute, I am sitting squarely on the "why is this story being told in four parts?!?!" I need it to end like yesterday LOL And please don’t misunderstand and think it’s because it’s dragging for dragging because it isn’t but it’s .. a lot.
I am almost 90% certain on the reason for the whole four-part thing NOW that I’ve read Ruin. The title of the third installment plus Edward’s last words pretty much paint a picture but I’m not counting my chickens just yet, if you know what I mean.
Ruin was … unexpected. That’s the best I can tell you. Edward is … weirdly fascinating and a little bit scary LOL This entire journey is weirdly captivating and addictive. I am fully invested and all in. Not only because I’ve already read two parts, of course I’m gonna finish now, but because I believe in Edward and Celia. I am rooting for them. I want to hug them at the finish line, sort of speak. And if I know one thing for certain is it ain’t over till it’s over and it’s gonna get worse before it gets better. Bet me.
#JesusSaveMeFromThisJourney
Sidenote: You know that saying about hitting rock bottom … yeah, this story, in all its parts, is exactly that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing
When I started reading, I had my review planned out— I didn't like the fmc, but as I kept reading, I could see how her character changed or what made her the way she is and this sits perfectly for her- imperfectly perfect. She is all broken and cracked and rough edges and she is worthy of love, this whole book the author reiterated the feelings about worth, I hope we get to see the same for the MMC.
